Okay, so I have a Short sword that an artificer fused with an Oni heart. Basically a common Short sword that now has 1d4 cold damage on top of the 1d6+2, it is also characterized as a +1 magic weapon. How do I change the stats on this weapon, or do I need to home brew this weapon?
To homebrew the +2 bonus, that will be under MOdifiers. Bonus > Magic and then put a fixed value of 1.
For the 1d4 cold damage you can homebrew it as a modifier as well. Modifier. Type = Damage, subtype = Piercing. DIce count 1, dice type d4.
I don't think you can overwrite the base 1d6 damage at all but you can add extra damage on top of the base, and use the Replace Damage Type modifier to say, make a short sword deal cold damage instead of slashing. But you can't modify that the base damage is a 1d6 to my understanding.
That said I don't know how all of this homebrew interacts with D&D Beyond's dice roller. My games all use the Beyond 20 browser extension that sends commands from the character sheet to the VTT which handles these things fine for the most part.
Wow, thanks for the feed back yeah I’m not to sure how it will affect beyond 20, but Ill play around with it. I think I was ideally looking to make it so the weapon had the d6 roll button and a d4 roll button for convenience. Again though, thanks for details it will definitely help me get it brewed up.

You will need to homebrew it, but either way, the dice roller cannot handle multiple dice types, so if you want you can also just add a note.

Cool, thank you.
