I had an idea for an armor based feat for spell casters and decided to make it real. I don't see it as being very balanced at all. My original idea was to set the unarmored AC as 12 + Int, however homebrew tools do not deactivate the dex modifier so I included it as part of the feat.I made this because I really hate the idea that in order for a spellcaster to have protection they must burn mage armor constantly (which is still cool) or take feats to wear armor which breaks the image of casters. I don't want my casters to be full suit armored knights with a wand. What do you guys think?
Keep in mind that a lot has to go right to use this feat properly. You must be able to prepare spells, you must have an Intelligence of 16 +, you must be at least level 5 to take the feat, and if you use too many spells or fall unconscious you can't use it until you regain spells or spend an action respectively.
