Hey, I am looking for opinions on a homebrew spell. I have it set at level 4 because to post it, the spell needed a level, not entirely sure what the level should be though. If possible I'd love feedback.
Death Messenger LEVEL 4th CASTING TIME 1 Action RANGE/AREA Self 10 ft COMPONENTS V DURATION Instantaneous 10 Minutes SCHOOL Necromancy ATTACK/SAVE None DAMAGE/EFFECT Communication In dire need, the caster can sacrifice their life and soul for the sake of a message to an ally. If they have any doubt about whether this action should be taken the spell will fail. At their utterance, they willingly let go of their own life. Death takes them immediately, Spare the Dying and Healing Magic are already too late to be helpful. The soul of the caster leaves the body in that moment to deliver a message. This message functions in the same way as the spell Sending except the target can be on any plane of existence. Once the message is delivered, the soul disperses causing the caster to be impossible to resurrect. This spell requires utter certainty to cast. If enchanted into an item, this certainty is not so restrictive, however the consequences remain the same

First reaction: drop to second level & use the ritual tag.
Second reaction: sounds like trying to justify suicide.
Recommend change action type to REACTION (lose the ritual/10 minute cast) triggered by a failed death save. (You can always choose to fail a save.)

Dying Breath When you make a death save, you may forgo that and all remaining death saves to cast this spell as a reaction. The spell takes the form of a message of no more than 10 words that unerringly crosses all distances and planes to a specified recipient with the capability to understand language.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd or higher level, you may also cast Bestow Curse targeting any creature that you can see within 30'. If that target fails its Wisdom saving throw vs your spell DC, the curse lasts until dispelled.
