I'm trying to create a simple homebrew weapon: a longsword that doesn't have versatile, but is a finesse weapon. I'm just starting with a rapier, and changing the damage type to slashing.
When I try to use the "replace damage type" modifier, and put slashing in, and 1d8 as the dice, the item still says piercing on my character sheet. If need be I'm fine just leaving it and telling my dm it's supposed to be slashing not piercing, but is there something I'm missing here? Another step, or a different modifier?
Thanks! I didn't know about the updating cache taking that long! I just removed the d8 change, so hopefully in a bit it gets better. Appreciate the feedback

Would appreciate any help :) Thanks!
Just adding replace damage type – slashing should do the trick, the base weapon dice can't be changed.
It could just be that the system hasn't updated the cache (which can take up to 20 minutes), try it again and see if it has taken effect.
The other thing is to make sure you click the top-level Save button after adding any modifiers or other features.
