Hello all, a player of mine recently had a scabbard made from a tusk of Gorthok thunder boar, and I thought it would be cool if it had an added magical enhancement. But i'm having trouble figuring out how I want it to be balanced. I'm aiming for Uncommon, and don't want it to be something that does too much. I decided it would add an additional 1d8 (or 2d6?) lightning damage to the weapon stored in it, but to make uncommon it needs some restrictions. I was thinking bonus action to activate, and only imbues the weapon with lightning for 10 minutes and used once or twice a day? I'm open to other suggestions as well.
tl;dr = Magical scabbard, use bonus action to add 1d8 lightning damage to a weapon for ten minutes, twice a day.
