I am trying to create a warlock subclass that i found and have modified/expanded upon. The problem is that it involves several different expanded spell lists depending on the color of your patron. Now, I can get specific set of spells to show up depending on your choice of color but they all appear as usable but not in the spell lists no matter what i select when adding the spells. Have I missed something? Is there a way to add the spells to the expanded spell list by patron colour or is the only option to add to extended spell lists to add them in the Additional Specific Spells box under Basic Information?
If the Addition Specific Spells box is the only way, why is there options for spells to be "not always prepared" when adding spells under Class Feature - Expanded Spell List - Class Feature Options - Spells?
I could create a patron for each color and bypass this issue but it would be nice to add everything under one subclass.
I am having a very similar issue with a sorcerer subclass one of my players asked for. Depending on what you choose in one class feature, you get a different expanded spell list from a second class feature (i.e if in class feature 1 I choose option A, class feature 1 grants me a specific proficiency, and class feature 2 grants me access to a spell list. If I choose option B I get a different prof. and a different spell list in class feature 2, etc.). I would be more than happy to combine the class features (so feature 1 would give me a prof. and a spell list dependent upon the choice made.)
Right now I think I can do what I want with the spells piece but because of the 15-20 minute lag between making a change and it becoming available in the character sheet it is really hard to test what the various options do, and frankly the guides for the subclass homebrew builder are just not great at all (The fact that all the guides and help are hidden away in the forums as opposed to placed on actual help pages within the site is a whole nother rant).
I can see how to add a spell list to a class feature, but I cannot make the main class feature dependent on a previous option, I can only make options dependent on options. Ideally this would be fixed by simply allowing options to add spell lists, but I suppose that it could be fixed by allowing class features to be dependent on previously chosen options but that seems like a messy way to do it.

The Additional Specific Spells box under Basic Information can be used to add specific spells for the entire sub-class, these won't be limited to each patron. This is also the only place where you can add an entire spell list for another class.
If you add a sub-class trait for selecting a patron, and add an Option for each patron, then under each Option you can alternatively use the Additional Spell List section to add specific spells for that patron. These will be spells that they must learn or prepare before they can use them, and are otherwise normal spells.
Alternatively you can add them under the Spells section of the option, this is a little more complex but gives you access to way more options. Each spell you add here will be either one spell (if you specify one), or one spell choice for the player (if instead you specify a spell class, level or such). For example, if you add three entries to Spells, each with spell class Wizard and levels of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, set to always prepared and counts as known as no, then when the player selects that option they'll be asked to pick three wizard spells which will then be prepared, without reducing their normal limit on known/prepared spells.
Annoyingly there are lots of weird caveats and sort-of-bugs that can make it hard to do exactly what you want with a homebrew, but hopefully one of these options is close enough to what you want that it will work for you!

Thanks for the help in advanced :D
