So I’m having trouble with a Homebrew feat I’m working on. Its essentially supposed to buff the Whip weapon for martial classes wanting to make it their main weapon, but I’m struggling to get D&D Beyond’s Homebrew system to do much of anything.
First idea I had was using either Expertise or Twice Proficiency with the Modifier section to allow a whip user to double their proficiency for attacks made with whips. But neither did anything on the test character I was using, whom only ever added base proficiency plus Dex mod.
Another idea I’ve had is to up the damage of a Whip’s attack, as a d4 is pitiful for a martial class, even at 10 ft. But nothing I do helps because I can’t specify the extra damage to just be for Whips. It’s either got to be one handed melee or melee in general.
