So I have taken my players to space where they have found a badass custom spelljammer that is a remnant of an old civilization that could cast spells higher than 9th level. This ship has a few 10th level spells it can cast, choose one of the 3 once a month. I'd love to create them on DDB but I can't change the spell level to the correct one for the spells. I realize this is an occurrence that is probably exceedingly rare, but is there a way to set the spell level to something other than cantrip through 9th.
Also is there any news on a homebrew vehicle creator?
Casting at 10th level doesn't appear to be possible; one of the Spells options allows you to select levels up to twenty for a spell's cast-at level, but all values above 9 appear to just be treated as 9th level by the character sheet, so this is most likely a bug rather than an intended feature. As a general rule, if official content can't do it, then homebrew can't either, as most capabilities are directly informed by the official books and nothing else.
That said, if you only want to do this for specific spells, you can just copy those spells and change them into higher level versions of themselves by upping the damage or other effect(s) yourself; they'd still show as 9th level but if the only way to cast them is through the custom spelljammer then this shouldn't be a problem as you're consuming charges rather than spell slots.

Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
I have made them as 9th Level spells, but I can't submit them. And 10th-12th level spells are not something players often have access to, since 2e anyway, but it would be fun if the spell level was customizable instead of limiting them to Cantrip through 9.
