I am trying to build a ranger, but I am having issues creating an option that will prevent disadvantage on attack rolls against creatures you're unable to see, provided they aren't hidden. It is the "Blind Fighting" fighting style. Similar issue with Feral Senses also.
If you're hoping to add an additional fighting style to the Ranger class then sadly you can't; we can't currently edit classes and there's no way (yet) to add additional options to a class' feature(s).
You could either make it a basic feature of your homebrew sub-class, or you could consider making a Feat that adds the alternate fighting style ability, in which case you'll have to make sure your player doesn't select another fighting style as well.
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
Yes. I am creating a homebrew. I made a basic feature but couldn't find an option to allow such a thing. Feral Senses would be at level 18 and the Blind FIghting is a feature option for Fighting Style. Now that I've slept on it, I guess it makes more sense to just go off the description instead of having a built in option for it.
