I'm trying to make a feat where you get to choose two spells out of a list of spells and can choose what ability score to use as the spellcasting ability (sort of like the initiate of high magic feat or run shaper feat). I can't seem to figure out how to add in the ability to choose what ability score is used in it.
It’s not currently possible to do with homebrew, you will have to make three separate versions of the feat, one for each of the three spellcasting abilities.
Even if you choose the 2024 Magic Initiate feat as the base feat from which to create the homebrew, there are options that are just hidden from edits. Seems like such an easy thing to build into homebrew editor
Right?? I've been trying to figure out how to implement this feature for ages and copying from the Telekinetic or Resilient Feat just leaves the whole editing window empty while still having the options implemented in the feat when I add it to a character. Completely ridiculous.
The frustrating thing about this is you can do this with the options homebrew feature for species. So they have the code for it, they could just copy and paste that over to the feat homebrew but they just didn't.
Same thing with the ability to add spells know to feats similar to our racial spells can be known and cast once for free. The code exists, they just didn't bring it over.
I'm trying to do just this and have the same frustration. I am creating the Strixhaven Initiate feats using the Magic Initiate as a template. It still gives me the spellcasting ability drop-down, but it's all three, and even if I choose say CHA for my Bard and a spell like Ice Knife, the spells page still attaches my INT modifier to Ice Knife instead.

GOSH DANG IT, I was trying to do this too. Looks like I can delete the entire thing again and start with the damn Magic initiate. >(

Very frustrating.
