I want to add limited use abilities (like legendary resistance) where my homebrew monster can only use it X number of times per day. It seems that even when I do (X/day) or (X/Rest), DnDBeyond does not recognize that. It only recognizes spell slots or legendary resistances/actions, etc...
It isn’t possible to track limited uses on monsters on DDB.
Still annoyed that this isn't a feature. Hoping it comes about when the DnDBeyond VTT gets released, though wouldn't mind sooner 😜

It isn’t possible to track limited uses on monsters on DDB. Are you perhaps using Beyond20?
dndbeyond tracks spell slots and legendary resistances/actions. I was trying to do similar tracking with Ki Points and Action Surge.
No, DDB does not. It lists however many there are, but it doesn’t provide any checkboxes to track them. You must be using the Beyond20 Browser Extension as that does track them. Those checkboxes are available on character sheets, but not on monster statblocks.

Same, it's annoying. Thanks for the info!

I found a way... when I gave my homebrew NPC second wind I typed this and it keeps tracks of the uses...
You can use this (2 slots) times per Long Rest, and can regain one expended use when you finish a Short Rest.
