So, looking for both balance tips, usefulness thoughts, and sensitivity thoughts on some items I was thinking about.
Let me make one thing clear: Yes adventurers with disabilities exist and are every bit the heroes the rest of us are. I don't want to hear how no one needs those because we can just erase the disabilities. I do want to know other items you think would be good for adventurers with disabilities.
Cane of Perception:
Staff
This item comes in 4 varieties. unmodified (common), +1 (uncommon), +2(Rare), +3 (Very Rare) All of them can be used as staffs (both martial and magical, depending on your need) grant advantage when trying to cross difficult terrain at full speed, and grant +10 feet of blind-sight. the modified version give a corresponding bonus to attack rolls, melee damage rolls, and spell attack rolls but require attunement. The modified version will also allow you to use a bonus action to strike the ground at your feet with the cane, until the end of your turn, you gain +30 ft of blind-sight. This trait can be used a number of times equal to the modifier. it regains all spent uses at dawn.
Stone of the Steady Eye:
Wondrous Item
Uncommon
This magic item gives advantage on investigation checks related to reading. The stone can be bonded to with an hour of meditation. Once bonded, it gains a number of charges equal to your proficiency bonus. Each charge can be used to cast Comprehend Languages without material components. The stone cannot be bonded to any other adventurer until the current adventurer spends another hour to sever the connection or dies. This item is given to adventurers with reading disorders
Spectacles of Chromatic Cacophony:
Wondrous Item
Common
This glasses are normally clear, but will tint themselves. The tinted area will indicate direction of the sound. The wearer is proficient in Initiative checks. These are provided for adventurers with hearing impairments.
Whistle of Companionship:
Wondrous Item
Uncommon
You can perform a bonding ritual to this item. once you bond to this whistle, it has a Number of charges equal to your proficiency bonus. you may expend one charge to ritually cast the "Find Familiar" spell without material components.

Well ersatz eye and prosthetic limb do exist... but the ones you have are pretty cool.
