Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: 1 year as a DM Location/Timezone: GMT but people from all over are welcome if you can make the time slot Schedule: GMT 6pm to 10 pm Sundays Roles sought: Looking for 2 players, 18+ Only, new people to DnD are welcome Game style: RP based but with have a good mix of combat as well, player actions and conversations can cause or avoid conflicts.
First an introduction of myself, the group and how we function. Started off as a player but our DM disappeared after just a couple of weeks. I enjoyed the company of the individuals in the group so I took up the mantle as DM, my first time DMing, and the 7th of March marks 1 year of me DMing for the group. During that year we have played every week except for during the christmas period A couple weeks I was not available one of the players stepped up and ran a one shot that lasted a few weeks, also their first time DMing, and recently another player has done the same when my PC broke. I am not great for doing a variation of voices but the group has enjoyed the personalities, from lovable NPCs to individuals that get under your skin.
We use DnD Beyond for character sheets along with the beyond20 extension to put rolls into Roll20 which we use for city and battle maps. I also have Legend Keeper which is a place to provide information from locations across the world and in cities, recaps of each session, to the contents of books purchased in shops. I also make a section for each player that is hidden from the others so you can write any notes as the sessions go along and can use the search function to find information amongst the ramblings. I also like players to put information of their backstories and relevant NPCs in their own section so I can easily reference them without having to keep track of a million links to different documents. I ask this because I try to incorporate a personal quest to each player.
On that, the players are now at level 8. For the main story line, new players will not have missed out on much as the group got pulled into one of these personal story lines and have only just finished up with it. It is a completely homebrew world that may reference to things such as names of gods from other DnD lore but not necessarily follow what that lore says. A lot of the world has been made based on player backstories and nothing is set in stone, so you still have lots of freedom with your own backstory. While there are some restrictions, again these are not set in stone for the most part.
The joining of the campaign will not be immediate, hopefully not more than a month, as I am still in the process of ordering/building my replacement PC and when I have it up and running I need to catch up on my IT course. But that just means we have more time to go over backstories and how to naturally have your character join the others. It may even give me time so the new players can have a session 0 and come into the campaign together. This gives us a chance to iron out any problems such as with Legend Keeper or using the Beyond20 extension.
For the group so far we have: A wingless Aarakocra Wizard A Leonin Artificer A Goblin Paladin with some levels in cleric and bard. A Kalashtar Monk But do not feel like you have to play a class to round out the group, there are other ways to gain health or defend yourselves rather than rely on a tank or dedicated healer and such. The focus is that you enjoy your character. Alterations can be made as we go along if you feel you are not enjoying a class as you expected, as long as those changes are not to the extremes of say a lovable cleric turning into a blood thirsty barbarian.
Due to real life circumstances I now have slots available and have decided to add in 2 players. For players we firstly look for people who are dedicated and can commit to the time slot, Sundays 6pm to 10pm GMT. Also keep in mind if you will be effected by daylight savings. We keep to the 6pm - 10pm when it does change. I fully understand real life stuff comes up, so it is not a case of you miss a few sessions and you are out. I also ask that you have somewhere quiet during the session, that the time playing will not be interrupted by others in your home or have noise in the background such as someone's tv for example. We had a player like that in the early days and on many occasions it ruined sincere moments. As a slight precautionary warning, the story may get emotional or disturbing at times but this has also lead to real sentimental and touching moments between player characters within the group and with NPCs. Plus the continent the story takes place on features a variety of countries, each hosting a different political ideology, providing areas that offer intrigue and causes friction between nations. We often joke of the emotional trauma the characters are put through. We ask that you be ready to make the commitment and be in it for the long haul. We have become a group of friends that come from the UK, USA and Switzerland, so all are welcome. New people are also welcome, everyone in our group was new to dnd at the start, and while we understand nerves and anxiety, something I deal with myself, you need to be prepared to try and join in with the RP. This is not saying day 1 amazing acting skills, but ready to try. I aim to make moments of RP feel natural and not force people into awkward conversations.
If you feel you could make the commitment of time and join a group of randoms to grow to be another awesome friend to all, if you feel you can stand the pressure of the world on your shoulders and the emotional turmoil that may unfold, then please do contact me. While I do check in on this site during the week, the fastest way to communicate is on discord as I would like to have a voice chat as well. So add me on there Raving#6184 and once I have accepted, just drop me a message with a little about yourself and the character/backstory you would like to play. Some changes may be needed to be made if it doesn't quite fit with the established world lore, but I am more interested in what you have in mind for a character and I will be flexible where I can. At the end of the day it is about having fun.
Hi, my name is Josh, and I'm interested in joining the campaign. However, I'd like to know if you'd allow a race from an older edition, that being the dinosaur-like Saurials. I ask because I've made a variation of the race, and a new character along the way. He's a Tyrannosaurus-based Barbarian named Crt'iu, who's a wise and kind person off the battle, but in battle, he's been known to rip people limb from limb. Certainly fitting of the Tyrannosaurus race. My Discord username is TheLethalVO#6497 so expect a request soon. :) I look forward to seeing you on the battle.

Hi, I'm interested in your game for myself and my husband. Sunday is a great time for us to play and love somewhat more serious games. We've both been playing since 1st edition and have a few character concepts ready to go for a game. I've sent you a friends request on discord already so we can chat. Ack_Zombies#1689
