"Waterdeep: Dragon Heist" is one of the most exciting and novel of the official modules released for D&D 5e. It is an urban adventure focused on investigation and intrigue. Waterdeep is an exciting city full of wonders, but, at the same time, a city of great danger. As newcomers to the city, the players will have to tread carefully, trying to make allies and stay on the right side of the law, while a gang war threatens to tear the city apart.
Waterdeep is the most diverse and accepting city on the Sword Coast, and all manners of both mundane and phantastical people make it their home. It serves as the perfect introduction to the world of the Forgotten Realms, the decades-old campaign setting that is the home of countless D&D role playing adventures, video games, and novels. Rogue drow, rebellious tieflings, gutsy goblins, and gentle firbolgs, everybody is welcome in the City of Splendor.
This campaign will appeal to players that enjoy a rich, lore-heavy, living world to interact with. There are many powerful people in Waterdeep and their intentions are not always clear. Choose your friends carefully, and seek allies that will look out for you, or risk getting caught in a web of intrigue and deception where betrayal is inevitable. The module is fairly slow-paced, with characters remaining in the heroic tier (levels 1 to 5) for most of the adventure, which might not appeal to some players who enjoy the power fantasy of the upper tiers.
We will be playing through Roll20, and you will have access to all necessary resources through that site. For communication we will use Discord. You will need (free) accounts for both of those sites. Payment will be made through startplaying.games where you can also find more information about the campaign. See the link for more: https://startplaying.games/game/605e1a907be42485f1580676
Of course I am always available to answer any questions you have about the campaign, the setting, and the playstyle.

Curse of Strahd is possibly the most successful module released so far for 5th edition D&D. It offers a unique setting compared to the other official adventures. Even though the heroes come from a land of high fantasy, they find themselves trapped in a Gothic nightmare-realm ruled by a despotic vampire lord. Slowly they realise that defeating this tyrant is their only ticket home, but to do that they must learn about the history of this accursed land and discover artifacts of power that will attract the dread lord's attention. This is not a world of sparkly, tortured, romantic souls with a dreadful secret, but of monstrous, predatory villain cursed by his own decisions. Tread carefully. The land of Barovia corrupts even those who come here with the best intentions. The game utilises unique mechanics, including a madness track developed by Matt Mercer.
Play will begin at level 1, and characters should be level 10 by the time they have their lost confrontation with Strahd. All players will level at the same pace with milestones. We will create characters together during session zero. As always, I am available to answer any questions you might have about the content of the campaign, the playstyle, and any concerns you might have. Payment will be arranged through startplaying.games, at a cost of US$17 payable at the start of each session. You can find reviews and more information about me and my other games at that site.
