Game style: Focus on RP , exploration and puzzles with combat thrown in. The campaign is split up in chapters and appropriate OOC channels are assigned for background-related purposes to every player. The game is played exclusively through text and Avrae, with maps made by the DM, so a decent amount of literacy is required. Don't expect an extremely action-packed setting,at least for the moment, though combat is definitely present.
DISCLAIMER : I am not the DM, but simply someone tasked with finding new people.
Hello to anyone who may be reading this, and thanks for taking your time to reply to this request. Seen as how a few people from our group had to leave due to scheduling issues, we are looking for someone capable of taking their spot. The party is currently composed of a Human Fighter,Tiefling Warlock and Hill Dwarf Cleric. Prior to said problems, they were busy investigating the mysterious disappearance of...a cat. Quite an adventurous start, if I do say so myself. But that's not all,as this courageous ragtag bunch of adventurers are trying to find out what hides behind an Orb-like artifact that seems to be tied to their world's past after having dealt with a Golem and finding out that it was none other than a mechanical contraption, left behind by a long-gone ancient civilization.
Arriving in a new town, they were faced with a puzzling endeavor...capturing a group of stray monkeys, escapees from the local zoo. Their next target would, however, reveal a much more sinister, looming shadow over their adventuring careers : among a pack of wolves terrorizing the locals, crept the sickening stench of necromancy. Their only clue as to who may have been responsible for twisting the animals in such a manner? A scrap of high-quality cloth.
If that interests you, then why don't you answer these simple questions and tell us a little about yourself?
- How did you approach D&D, and what was your first experience like?
- What do you like the most about the game? Is it building relationships, the scope of it, or something else entirely?
- If you've played any, what was your favorite character like?
- Your greatest passion, be it tied to the game or something you do for fun.
- Your Discord tag.
And that was all! Quite simple, yes? There are, however, some rules to be applied.
- No powerplaying, murderhoboing,PvP or metagaming. We want it to be a safe space to relax and enjoy the game in.
- You must be 14+ (though 16+ would be more suited to the game) to join.
- No racism, homophobia and the like.
With all that said... May we meet again as comrades !
ONE LAST DISCLAIMER : Due to several past accidents, we are looking for STABLE players, or ones that will warn us in case the campaign doesn't meet their needs or life has gotten in the way. We've been shuffling around 5 different players who dropped out and would like to make this a stable group effort.
Experience: Newish. I am in one campaign (my first) and I understand the mechanics of D&D.
Location/Timezone: Usa, Mountain Time (Colorado)
Availability: My availability is fairly open. My current campaign is Sundays 5-8 pm Mtn
Preferred role: Player
Game style: I’m looking for something non-murder hobo with an equal-ish amount of role-play and fighting, not super hard core or min-maxed. I am female and also a Lesbian, if that’s going to be an issue, I’m not a good fit for your group. I also have no tolerance for any kind of racism/sexism/homophobia. I would like a group where I’m not going to be the only female in it. Now that I have that out of the way, I’m just looking for something fun. I have a dry sense of humor and am very good at showing up every week!
How did you approach D&D, and what was your first experience like?
My first ever time playing D&D was a one-shot in college that a friend through together for his birthday. Since then I've been hooked and have played in a couple irl campaigns, though as time has gone on I've played mostly through discord. Sometimes with cameras but most of it in an all text PBP style where the game is always on but moves at a slow pace. What do you like the most about the game? Is it building relationships, the scope of it, or something else entirely?
What I like most about D&D is being able to create a play a hero I would have loved to seen as a child. As a member of the LGBT+ community I didn't have a lot of heroes to look up to as a child. So I love to create character that the childhood me would have loved to have seen in books, movies, ect.
If you've played any, what was your favorite character like?
My favorite character, who has inspired others to create and play members of his family, was my very first ever PBP character, a halfling paladin named Perry Cherrycheeks. Inheritor of the cherrycheeks cherry farm and excellent baker of cherry pies. He had a sentient sword, which he named after his boyfriend Frank, which he could use to grow rainbow wings. All in all he was an amazing character and the reason I started playing Paladin.
Your greatest passion, be it tied to the game or something you do for fun.
D&D is probably my greatest passion, though I also have a big love of video games as well. I love to create homebrew and be the test subjects for my friends when they want to try something new in this great game.
- How did you approach D&D, and what was your first experience like? I discovered a group that had been playing the game back in jr. high, went out and got the classic Red Box as I sought out to learn more about this wonderful game. My first real experience was with my friends at school later that same year as we started making a game and general messing about with the then new game mechanics.
- What do you like the most about the game? Is it building relationships, the scope of it, or something else entirely? My favorite part is being able to develop a character both in terms of abilities but also in terms of story development, as well as playing out the interactions of that character with other characters. Whether through RP or combat, being able to drive a story forward for your own character or participating in the story of another character, are both amazing things to savor.
- If you've played any, what was your favorite character like? I've created a ton of characters, and continue to do so constantly, so it's hard to pick just one. I generally love playing Rogues, but I've enjoyed playing every class out there.
- Your greatest passion, be it tied to the game or something you do for fun. I would say my greatest passion is gaming and game theory, not just playing games but also studying game elements and design. It's fun to figure out how all the different elements of a game work. But I also love just enjoying a game itself and building a great story out of that.
How did you approach D&D, and what was your first experience like?"
So many of my friends are into dnd and it made me want to look into it. My first experience was nervously asking my mom if she'd play with me if we got the starter set, and it worked out pretty well I'd say!
- What do you like the most about the game? Is it building relationships, the scope of it, or something else entirely?
I love roleplaying and DMing! It's just so much fun to make characters too, I don't know if I could seriously pick a favorite thing.
- If you've played any, what was your favorite character like?
I haven't gotten to finish a game yet but my favorite character is a tiefling draconic sorcerer/rogue. They're a bit rough on the outside but when they trust someone they become a great ally. They're sly and a bit sarcastic and I love them to death.
- Your greatest passion, be it tied to the game or something you do for fun.
My greatest passion is writing! I'm in the middle of writing two fantasy novels as we speak. Aside from that I'd say helping people, as cheesy as that sounds I genuinely feel amazing when I'm able to do something to help others out.
- How did you approach D&D, and what was your first experience like?
By Baldur's Gate, then BG2 followed by Neverwinter Nights (yeah, PC games!) made me love the setting and the RP idea. I almost managed to get a group going a few years ago on 4e, but we only managed to get together for one session. Now the itch came again and I learned about pbp, been playing like this for 8 months and been loving it except for the part where the group often ends with ghosting.
- What do you like the most about the game? Is it building relationships, the scope of it, or something else entirely?
I love the idea of acting as someone else, being a character, thinking about his/her ideals and desires and maybe getting to accomplish them!
- If you've played any, what was your favorite character like?
Zaroth Bearhugger, a Goliath grappling bard. The ever smiling giant, who considered everyone a friend and loved to give hugs, even when it was unnapropriated! Don't hug a paranoid overworking captain to say that he needs to rest!
- Your greatest passion, be it tied to the game or something you do for fun.
My greatest passion is the human mind, how fascinating it can be. As a resident on Psychiatry, I get to see that a lot of hurt minds and how they can change, and on D&D I can watch the same happening to the characters!
