Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: New Location/Timezone: Minnesota, USA, CST, GMT -6 Availability: My fully open days are Tuesdays and Sundays. I'm available around 9PM Monday-Friday, and 5PM on Saturdays. Preferred role: Player Game style: I'm looking for a casual/roleplay group that would be accommodating for a new player.
So, I'm 35, looking for a casual/roleplay group online, seeing we cant find ad-hoc in person games at stores for the time being. Really, I'm just looking to go through whatever would work to help me immerse myself in the experience of playing this RPG. I also intend to learn as much as possible so that I can also get a feel of what it's like and what it takes to DM in real time. I learn very quickly, and have read all I can as far as what the players handbook can teach me. I'm fully prepared to hit the ground running, and I likely won't ask any question I can't quickly reference in the Players Handbook.
If push comes to shove, I'll make a full hearted attempt to run a campaign on rails, (which will be a separate post) "the Lost Mines of Phandelver", but I want to play through a campaign or one-shots with other people to feel what I should know, rather than simply reading about what it suggested. I'd start the DM process on the starter kit right now, but if I'm going to spoil the story for myself, I want to really have a feel for the game to make it more than a campaign on rails. I also bought the essentials kit, the Monster book, and DM book, cause I fully intend to go neck deep in it all. Have a good night guys, happy rolling. Hope one of you can pick me up soonish!
