Hello there! We're three players looking to find a DM to run us through a campaign. We were part of another group that fizzled due to life and busy schedules, and we're eager to get a regular and consistent game going again.
We're all in our early 30s and very chill, and have been friends for years. We all live in different cities so this is a fun way for us to get in some quality time. Two of us have been playing for a year, the third for several. Ideally we'd like to play a campaign that has challenging combat as well as opportunities for RP and character development. We already have a few character concepts in mind and will work with you to craft backstories that fit into the larger world, if that's your jam. We'd love to play Descent into Avernus but are open to other possibilities.
Two of us are Central time zone, one Eastern. Mondays at 7 Eastern/6 Central is our best time slot. We're familiar with dndbeyond and to an extent Roll20. One of us has a paid Zoom account that we could use to host video and audio chat, if you're amenable to it.
If you're a DM looking to start a new campaign and this sounds interesting to you, feel free to reach out!
Hey dude, you open to taking on players? You sound like a cool group and since you're all friends, party cohesion isn't likely to be a big issue. I'm a fun, friendly, easygoing guy. I'm 24, from England, and currently living in Mexico. I can tell you a bit more about me if you'd like, just send me a message.
I love D&D. I'm into heavy roleplay and I'll stay in character for the whole session. I'm also really into challenging combat and thrive off the pretend danger my character is exposed to. I'm not familiar with descent into avernus but I've heard good things about the module.
Final things to note:
I prefer to play primary Spellcasters. Cleric is probably my preference for this game, but I'm not married to any one class and so I'm happy to fill in gaps.
I'll take session notes and review them!
I'm a serious player but I'm here to have fun. I'm pretty familiar with the system and so I'll always know how all my stuff works, but I'm not a 'rules lawyer' and I'll never correct or argue a rules point — but I won't ever hold the table up while looking through spells or trying to work out how something works.
I'm a pretty confident roleplayer and I definitely think I help engender a vibe for roleplaying — I'll always throw myself in. I can't stand players who try to make every scene about them. I think I'm pretty good at stepping up when I'm needed or I have something valuable to offer, and then standing back and letting other players take control when it's there turn. I understand how D&D works. I'm not looking to be the antagonist, just s valuable member of the team.
I'll leave it there. Let me know what your think. Either way, take care and good luck with the game!
Yeah, I'm with you; fizzled groups are a problem. I am a reliable player and I am recruiting some local friends to join it. If I find the right DM and player group that would be easier, bot for now it has been very tough.
My friend and I are experienced D&D-ers who are both new to online. We are both executive professionals living in Florida who can be reliable. I like to role-play *especially* in combat. Now; I should be specific about role-playing: I believe that role playing is important to be used properly. As a DM I gave three free re-rolls a per game to my players , but if one ever said "I say.." they'd lose a roll. I also granted bonus ep for good role play.
I cannot DM online as I lack adequate familiarity with the tools which are essential to gameflow. I have Discord well enough but can barely Roll20.
My friend and I would gladly join your party as PCs - so long as the right DM can be found. I can play pretty much any role. I have a large bag full of distinct personalities to draw from my DM-ing days. (Sadly, my favorite is off limits; a zombie who didn't know he was dead and was such a nice guy nobody had the heart to tell him)
The DM is really the keystone to a good campaign. They not only have to be a talented story teller they also must have people management skills - and now technical prowess. Online play has a very different tempo than in-person and will take a gifted person to pull it together.
