Heaven’s Gate (Pirate Campaign) (Paid) (Sundays)

Argh there matey!! I'm looking for five pirates that are brave, tenacious, and hungry for glory and treasure! Join the Heaven's Sailors on their raid against the port town of Persephon, nestled along the sunny shores of the Nianan Empire. A great black tower built long ago looms over Persephon, ominous for those who do not call the port town home but comforting and reassuring for those who grew up beneath its shadow. 

About the game

You will all be starting as a group of pirates who have come to join the pirate group known as the Heaven's Sailors, led by the pirate captain famously called the Mighty Hare. You will serve the great captain as he pursues his endless ambitions and battle his many enemies as well as your own. Often you will be sent on missions and quests that will be resolved based entirely on your decisions and could have an effect on the environment around you. As you continue to help and finish quests your own power, wealth and fame shall grow to the point that you may be able to become a captain and command a crew of your own and pursue your own ambitions. Sessions will take 4-5 hours.
All experience levels are welcome to this campaign. It's full of intricate quests that will have a lot of fun interactions with the world and its challenges.
If you are new to either D&D 5e, Roll20, or RPG's in general I will do my best to teach you the ropes and you don't have to worry about not knowing things, we've all been there, as long as you have the will to learn I am sure we can get you on your feet, running and causing mayhem and destruction.

I'm quite knowledgeable in the rules of 5e and can provide smooth sessions without having to flip through the rulebook all the time. Constructive Criticism is always welcomed after sessions, I strive to make the best experience for my players but I will need your help to do so. Jokes and swearing are totally fine however racism, sexism, bigotry, and any other nefarious behaviors towards other players are not allowed at my table, respect all around goes a long way in keeping the group together and maximizing fun.

Character Creation

We will be starting at 5th level. I allow all official Wizards of the Coasts books to be used when making your character as long as it makes sense within the setting but withhold the right to refuse a race or subclass if I think it won't fit the game. Any Unearthed Arcana, or homebrew must be approved by me beforehand. We will be using Point Buy for stats, as well as fixed hp, and with encumbrance. All characters will start with an extra feat that is also approved by me beforehand. 

Characters will be made during a free session 0, I recommend you have a base idea in your head, but try not to build too much on it as we will be doing that during session 0. I encourage players to work in conjunction with each other to make a party of adventurers that already know each other and have been traveling together for some time, but that is totally optional and you are free to work in pairs or go lone wolf with your backstory.

Hello, my name is Nicholas, but you can call me Nick. I'm he/him, 26 years old with a strong love for role-playing, collaborative storytelling, and honestly just having a good time in general. I have been running and playing D&D for about a year now and I enjoy it very much. It always makes me happy to hear my players cheer in triumph when defeating an enemy or slaying a monster. I love to make my players hate my villains and go all out whenever getting the chance to take them down. I can be pretty brutal when it comes to combat but I always try to keep it fair and competitive, meaning you will always have a chance to win every encounter no matter how stacked against you the odds may seem, I don’t believe in no win scenarios. 

Concerning Payment

Session 0 is totally free! After that every session must be paid for more than 24 hours in advance! Each session will be $10, or you can pay for 4 sessions at a time for a reduced price of $32. All transactions will be done through paypal. I charge for my session to cover the expenses I put back into the game, including the DnDbeyond master tier, all the content I’ve bought to share with my players, premium membership on groovy and Roll20, the many maps I will be buying for our sessions and as well as all the time and effort it takes to make a great campaign on a weekly basis. 

Requirements:

Having a good mic is a must as we will be using discord's voice chat to talk in-game, so get discord as well if you don't have it and also have a roll20 account(you can make one for free) as we will use that to visualize maps. Decent internet helps as well, a webcam is not necessary but if you want to use it be my guest.
