Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (FoundryVTT / Discord) Experience: Any (beginners welcome) Schedule: Wednesday nights - 8-11pm (UK time, every other week) Roles sought: 4-5 players
Hey! I'm starting a new Ghosts of Saltmarsh campaign and am looking for players to start soon!
I'm new to DMing but have been playing a while, and enjoy a semi-serious game with a mixture of roleplaying, exploration, character development and combat. For new players, I'm more than happy to teach you the rules and help you out when needed. The game will be pretty standard 5e rules, most official races/classes accepted; I'll try to incorporate character backstory but it will need to fit somewhere with the overall narrative. We can work out all these details when we start though.
I'm mainly looking for slightly older players to be honest (I'm 39), who want to work as a party and, essentially, be good human beings.
If you're interested, please drop me a message telling me a bit about yourself, what you're looking for in a game and what role you might like to play and hopefully we can get a group together!
I'm Mathias, I'm 27 and recently started my first (real) D&D campaign.
I started after starting to watch the 2nd campaign of critical roll and being entranced about the possibilities and sheer imagination of D&D (again, tried starting to play couple of years ago but was to busy with work)
I'm looking to roleplay and build a story, and generally have a good time.
Weekdays are tricky for me since I work a lot, but every other week should work just fine, I should be more then able to shoehorn my schedule around that. I am from Belgium so that means the campaign starts at 7 for me, but as mentioned, I'll make it work.
I'm a reasonably quick study, and interested in lore and mechanics, but I'm still very much a newb.
I am keen to join a group as a (new to dnd) player. I have learnt some from watching others play. Also Critical Role has also taught me some. I have recently started a campaign which meets most Sundays. Using Discord/Roll20 and DnD Beyond App.
I am in my 50's and totally enjoy this RPG. I'm from South Africa and won't have a problem with playing at those times as I watch UK footy here!(up late to watch football)
My name is Al, and i am 20 (i know a little young), but my dad (39) has been interested in playing with me for a while, I've been playing since middle school, but he hasn't played 5e yet, so this will be his first time. I am american, so i wont be able to play at quite the time you posted, (if it would be at all possible to move it an hour ahead that would be great)
Once again i have been playing for a long time, so i can handle everything with my dad and i, so no hand holding needed

Hey Al, thanks for the interest - the time's not that flexible for me tbh, I have to get kids in bed etc before I can start playing! Have got enough now to fill my game, sorry I couldn't accomodate you!
On the off chance, that you end up needing an additional player.... I will drop my name in the pool.
Me: 42 years old - and under the same "restraints" as yourself (married with kids *lol*) - so I like the hrs. you have suggested for campaigning. Started playing back in the days (MERP, Rolemaster, dnd 2 ed etc). Took a looong break, and have just recently returned to roleplaying and dnd 5ed. I live in Denmark, but I affluent in english so language is not going to be an issue.
Casual by nature, good sense of humor (have even heard others say so to... *lol*). Enjoy the character building / roleplaying aspect the most6680 . I have always had a tendency in the past, to play dwarves (fighter / barb) OR halflings (thief/rouges). This time I have created an elf druid (first time for me): I will throw you the backstory of her below... just for laughs, I guess.
Discord: D3viousDane#6680. (im not really THAT devious, tbh...)

At a very young age, it became evident to many among her kin, that Lorina had received the gift of wisdom - to a degree beyond what anyone had seen in many decades. As a consequence, it was decided that she was to leave her family to become an apprentice druid in the circle "Old Oaks". The druids in "Old Oaks" served as caretakers and guardians of the "All Mother" - the ancient oak from which the entire forest of Anduieall, originated. Under the guidance of her elders, Lorina learnt the ways of the druid, building up her knowledge of lore on nature - and on how to use it to serve her ways. Decades went by, in peace and harmony, and the forest flourished, as the roots of the All Mother nourished all of her children - mighty oaks and saplings alike. For many decades, the circle had been a thorn in the eye of the local lords of House Mallarch, since they stood in the way of the Mallarch’s plans of felling the oaks in order to expand their merchant and military fleet. Through means unknown, House Mallarch somehow succeeded in infiltrating the circle, turning one or more of its members, who in return, inflicted a poisonous wound on the All Mother. This caused her to wither up and lose all her leaves. Slowly but surely, the poison spread through the roots of the All Mother, causing tree upon tree to succumb to the poison. Slowey but surely, the entire forest was dying. The betrayal of circle members, and the rapidly dwindling of the Anduieall forest, resulted in the abolishment of the circle, and the banishment of its members - who were forbidden to ever again set foot in the forest - or risk their life doing so. On the night of the banishment, Lorina shape changed into a squirrel, and succeeded in securing the last acorn from the All Mother. Alas, her hopes of creating a sapling from the acorn, were to no avail - it was all dried up and showed no signs of life. None the less, she kept it as her most treasured possession - and as a stark reminder of what once was. Despite scattering throughout the realm, many of the circle members, would meet occasionally to discuss plans of retribution against House Mallarch and even on how to rebuild the circle. As the years went by, Lorina eventually grew tired of the lack of progress amongst the elder members of her former circle - they were all talk and no action. Disillusioned, she eventually stopped attending meetings. Giving up her former life, and much of her druid powers, she settled for a simple life in a small town on the fringes of the realm, where she earned a living as a leatherworker. She protected the town from various minor threats and even helped to predict the day's weather using druidcraft. Despite her "strange" elven origins, she was eventually accepted by the townspeople. Then one day, a member of the "Oath of the Ancients Paladin" happened upon the town. The Paladin sensed a potential and powerful connection to nature in Lorina. Upon hearing her story, she convinced Lorina to take up the life of the druid again and travel with her - arguing that as long as part of Anduieall forest was alive, all hope was not lost. Encouraged by the paladin, who was not only words but also action, Lorina agreed and took to roaming the lands, adventuring in the pursuit of knowledge and the rebuilding of her druidic powers. As her powers started to regain - so did her desire to redeem the honour of the circle. And for that she needed two things: To somehow unveil who among the circle members were behind the betrayal of the circle. And more importantly: to acquire as much knowledge and power as possible, in order to somehow be able to bring back to life the "All Mother", saving her forest, her people and ultimately - herself in the process.
I'd be interested in your campaign. I'm 39 year old Brit living in Spain, family and kids and not as much free time as I'd like to play D&D, but your time works absolutely perfectly. I have some experience with one-shots and west-marches style play, but would love to have a regular campaign where rping and character development is possible and not just combat. I have a hill dwarf ranger I'm rolling with at the moment, I have a background written-up and will share the link in a Dm, but I'm happy to work with the party to balance the campaign. I'm a chilled guy and really just want to kickback and enjoy an adventure with some likeminded people.
Hope to hear from you.
