Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: New (to 5e), veteran (30+ yrs in RPGs) Location/Timezone: Indiana, Eastern Standard Time (EST) (This is my timezone. Any are welcome as long as they can fit the schedule) Schedule: To Be Determined, (Evenings only) Roles sought: Players (4+ needed to start) Game style: Bit of everything, more determined by players
Looking to start a game online. I've been out of Online RPG's, so I'm mostly rusty with where to host/what everyone seems to be using mostly. Last online game was using Google+ Hangouts, so that's a bit outdated now. New to Discord. Recently learned of Owlbear Rodeo and love it. Will NOT use Roll20. So, Discord and Owlbear unless I can be persuaded to another site....
New to 5e. Played a handful of AL games locally. Recently started GMing a home 5e group. May not have enough experience to have the books memorized, but with a little time, that will change. Played many different systems over the years, GMing almost every one of them. If you want a list, I can provide.
Like to create a world where everything keeps on turning, but the magnifying glass is on the players. They may not see the ripples they cause, and a ripple from somewhere else may impact their adventure, but nothing happens without someone making a splash somewhere; big or small. I like to extend every bit of freedom to the players, asking only that they realize they have to narratively exist in a cooperative state. So playing conflicting characters isn't an issue unless it becomes illogical for a player to continue to work with the others (or everyone needs to kill, etc.). Not into pre-written adventures. Not sure what setting I'd utilize (Ravenloft is new and shiny...), so if there is a player preference, I'm down to indulge it.
Schedule: I'm not sure how long of a game everyone would be down for. At least 2 hrs, no more than 5 depending on day. No Saturdays (I run two alternating home games on Saturdays: one 5e, one Genesys) and Wednesday nights are out for me as well (I'm a player in a Strahd game.)
So interested parties should respond here with day/time preferences, maybe we can get things sorted. I can only play after 5p EST, Sun-Fri.
Thanks.
[edit] No to Tasha's race changes, no unofficial materials. (no UA or Homebrews)
I have 2 interested players. One is very new to dnd or any tabletop but is willing to learn, the other has been playing for a long time (dnd club in 5th grade 1985ish), and has played some 5e.
The prefered time would be maybe 6ish EST on Tuesdays or Fridays. I'm not familiar with Owlbear or playing via anything not face to face (I'm old after all) although I do have limited experience with Discord, I'm willing to try anything to scratch my itch.
If you're still looking, I would be interested! I'm in CST, free most evenings including Sun-Wed. I'm 26 and pretty new to DnD in general, but I like solving puzzles, and rping with groups I'm comfortable with. My discord is coverednbees#5869.
Thank you everyone for the responses. I am looking to nail down the game time, as I did leave a bit of room for that. If you're still interested, please contact me on Discord. TwilightSpyder#5167 I can't promise everyone that they'll be in a game, but with everyone interested, we should have something running.
