so why is it so hard to find a group, I was really excited when I found this app. But now I am seeing it’s extremely difficult to even get invited. We are all here for fun and a great time. I am 43 and I honestly would love nothing more than to just have a good time.
The reality is that each game has 1 DM but many players. Players just show up, usually with no preparation. A DM has to spend tens of hours to be intimately familiar with a module, or (usually many more hours) to craft a homebrew world.
That is why you will see many paid DM advertisements. They know the supply-demand ratio favors them. That's not necessarily a bad thing. They will likely take the time to hone their craft, so they can continue to get paid.
DMs who do not get paid usually have limited time due to life and work, but also want a stable group. Once they have the right mix of players who will stick it out week after week, they don't advertise for more players.
You should consider being a DM if you just want to have fun, because it will be much easier to get a group together if you are willing to put in the work.
Otherwise, be patient, and continue to respond to posts, or try AL at a local game store, once they are back up & running in your area.
