Hello! My name is Josiah (He/Him) and I DM a homebrew campaign that began in December. This coming Friday (05/28) is our 12th session. We meet every Friday from 8:30pm - 11:30pm EST.
To make a long story short, the online nature of the campaign means that my players and I meet on Discord from a variety of time zones. One such player had to move between time zones for his job, and so had to back out because we couldn't get another time to fit with everyone. I'm looking for someone to fill his shoes. The way my campaign is designed is very player-oriented, in the sense that I write a significant amount of the plot with regard to these characters. Essentially, this player being gone means that some integral threads of my grand weave are now missing. Unless I extensively rewrite some late-game plot, which I don't want to do, the campaign will fall apart without this character.
I know it seems boring to simply take up another person's character, and not be able to play something truly and fully your own creation, but I want to stress that you can still make this character yours. The previous player only made it to two sessions, so there is not a whole lot of roleplay that is canon for him, and there are no expectations of you. The party is only level 3, so you haven't missed much. My only requirement is that the subclass (Echo-Knight) and most of the backstory remain the same. If you'd like to change races, you definitely can. I won't mention the character's personality or alignment, because how you roleplay this character is completely up to you. I am asking for someone who already wants to be an Echo-Knight if they can accept most of a pre-written backstory. If that's not you, no worries. If that sounds intriguing to you, then I'd love to have you join me and my seven other players!
The campaign uses DnD Beyond, and I own all the source books and a subscription that allows me to share it with you. I also use Roll20 for significant battle maps, but minor battles or battles that I didn't expect will be theatre-of-mind. Discord is the campaign's main communication hub, complete with notes and a lore channel so you can catch up on the few things you have missed. The doc below details a tiny bit about myself, the world, house rules, and thematic content. I try to keep a good ratio of brevity to detail. It might seem a little dated, because this form is the same one I used to find my original players before the campaign started, so just ignore minor contextual issues. If you like what you see and you're willing to take up the mantle of the party's Echo-Knight, look out for the Google Form at the end of the doc!
