So a year and and a half ago my newish (at the time) boyfriend invited me to join his DnD group, because he knew I liked to RP in MMOs and was at least board-game curious. We have played once or twice a week ever since and I have loved it! The only problem for me has been that I'd like to play more often, and see more of what the game has to offer.
About Me
I am a failed stand-up comedian who now coordinates corporate events and training activities for a boring but nice non-profit company. I'm in a long-term relationship with my partner who got me addicted to this game. I have a lot of RP experience, and a moderate amount of DnD experience. So far the highest level I've ever reached was 7, so more complex, later-campaign things are still a mystery to me.
What I'm Looking For
I'd like to find a stable group that can meet once a week in the evenings, remotely. I have a stable schedule and am pretty flexible as long as I have ample notice to make plans. I prefer campaigns over one-shots, but would be excited to try something shorter-term to get to know people.
Thanks a lot for reading this! If anyone has any advice on casting a wider net to find groups, I'd love to hear it.
Do you seek the freedom to find love? Build a castle? Or amass an army?
Are you looking for a long-lasting campaign with a living world?
Do you want a custom-tailored story arch of your own that involves both your class and backstory?
Are you a heavy Role-player looking to find love/ gather an army, build a homestead, and save the world?
Do you want a Dungeon Master who is willing to put countless hours into making sure that the campaign is amazing, fun, interesting and emotional?
Well, this might be the campaign for you!
Campaign Setting - The campaign takes place on an earth like planet called Vyke, within the Prime Material Plane, more specifically the continent of Eutath. Eutath was only discovered within the last 100 years, and as many people flock to it for a new life the world is filled with high tensions and constant struggles. There is still much of the land that has yet to be explored as countless mysteries await your discovery.
Game Style - I aim to be a RP heavy campaign setting with plenty of combat. This will be a mildly gritty game as well as rather deadly especially early on as you are not just born a hero. Although even after you are out of the early levels the game is set to be on the more difficult but not extremely hard.
About the Campaign - Shadow over Eutath will take you on a perilous journey of struggle and self-discovery. The party will begin at Level 1 and eventually end at level 20. We will be using a milestone system as you work towards your own story arch and the eventual story arch of the campaign as a whole. With this being said the leveling might be fairly slow but that is just to pace the game as there is quite a lot to do within the world, as your imagination is your only limitation.
About Me - Hey, I am Ryker. I am a 27-year-old from Florida. I have always loved Role playing but I had never gotten the chance to play Dungeons and Dragons until a year or so ago. It was love at first sight to be honest. After watching countless videos before playing my first game I was borderline addicted. I have played in countless games since then and have been compiling things that I like and dislike in Dungeons Masters in the hopes of running an amazing campaign of my own.
Player Creation - Player creation is not to be just throwing together random things and calling it a day. I am investing a lot of my personal time into creating a dynamic campaign and making sure each character has their own story arch of self-discovery involving their own backstory. I ask PCs are thought out, with a detailed backstory and 3 dimensional. I do have a section of requirements for player creation within my homebrew rules,
Homebrew Rules - I will be running a rather high Homebrew involved campaign, with that being I will be adding some Homebrew rules that I have found interesting or fun in games that I have played, the only change is I have tweaked them to more of my liking. None of these are set in stone, if I see that these are making the game no fun I will swiftly remove them. At Session 0 I will share a Word document that has everything you will need to know.
Requirements - The only true requirement for my table is that you have a microphone. Other than that, I will require you to have an open mind, an imagination and be willing to just break loose and have fun as my main goal is to have fun. My table is also supposed to be a safe place for everyone regardless of their age, race, or beliefs. So, I ask that you leave any political, religious, and controversial topics outside of the game table.
Schedule - Sessions are to take place Thursdays at 11:30pm ~ 2-3am EST. Sessions are remotely via Discord, Roll20 and DndBeyond.
Oh wow, that sounds pretty amazing Ryker! Unfortunately I'll be heading back into the office come July and won't get to sleep in, so 3am EST is a bit past my bed time. I would be delighted to join you otherwise. I wish you the best of luck in your epic campaign!
And to you, GoodSirKev, while I have DM'd for my BF's group several times, I am somewhat limited by my lack of game knowledge. I don't think I'd be comfortable DM'ing for strangers until I got more experienced at the game. It is a long-term ambition of mine though to start DM'ing, as I love to tell stories and have hosted quite a few RP campaigns in FF14 and other online games.
