Hello! My name is Kyle and I am a DM! I have worked for the Pittsburgh Knights creating content for their D&D sessions and livestreams. Along with that I have been deeply rooted in high fantasy ever since I could read and have been roleplaying and writing in creative realms since. My background is mostly in Toril/Fearun and the Shadowplanes settings. R.A. Salvatore is my fantasy dad and Everquest is the world that taught me how to become someone else. I wrote campaigns and stories for fun for nearly 15 years before randomly meeting the Knights and taking the position with them. From there friends continued to push me deeper in the rabbit hole and I started DMing my stories and receiving a lot of praise for them. It is almost entirely out of peer review that I am here offering this service, all due to the large amount of feedback urging me to do so.
Format: 5e would be preferred. 3.0/3.5 could be arranged.
Party Size: 2-6 players
Virtual Board: Roll20 would be my first choice and the most universal for everyone to use. Other tables or methods could be considered.
Campaign Details: I have two Campaigns available. Ravenloft and a custom called High Grove, which is based around a Multi-Party usable town and the events around its creation. Ravenloft... would take a very long time to complete... where as High Grove is open to any form of longevity, from one offs to multi-year campaigns.
Session Dates: This is really up to the party and is usually the hardest part to organize. Currently I have 1 weekly slot open and would able to facilitate 1 day of the parties choice a week. From there, Bi-weekly through monthly groups would be considered.
Session Times: Party choice, I am EST but am not beholden to time zones or regular sleep patterns. I would ask the sessions be a minimum of 2 hours. 3-4 is usually a lot more fun and my recommendation, as 5 and beyond gets to be exhausting for most.
Session Style: I like roleplay, details and staying in character. However, I also like to be silly and laugh too, so would your characters and the people they interact with.. usually. Also, not everyone can roleplay the same, so there will be no shaming or putting down anyone who just wants to be simple with their commands and just wants to be a part of the adventure. Furthermore, if you would like to spend time working on getting better on being in-character I would be happy to assist!
Player Characters: Party choice. Before the first sessions, 1 on 1 or group character help can be provided. I really like to follow the rules on character creation. No extra feats, no extra attributes.. you aren't a god at lvl 1... and shouldn't be one at lvl 10 either... however... if you just want have fun and be overpowered and stomp on some stuff... we can make that happen! That's just MY preference and I am open to whatever you want to pay me to do.. lets be real... which brings us to the sucky part...
Pricing: I will be honest with you all. I will put a lot of time in this. I will be waking up and writing for you most days of the week, preparing sessions with dialogue, music, sound effects, and believable NPCs and towns. I will voice these.. no monotone talking.. nah man.. in character baby! This also includes access to all the paid content I have on role20, which will be shareable to you as well as a paid discord server. My sole purpose it to take you away from real life for the set time, make you forget about your normal life and get sucked into being someone else, somewhere else, that you want to be. If you aren't having fun, I am not having fun. So:
First Session: $15 a person . This one is more because of the time to get everything initially set up. This would also cover any character creation help/integration. Developing Sessions: $10 a person. As we continue to develop our campaign, the amount of work required from me begins to drop and the story will begin to write itself through you guys. As this happens, the price continues to lower. This stage seems to last 6-10 sessions based on their length. Smooth Sailing: $6 a person. From here on out nearly all my prep work will be done and the campaign will hold all the reusable resources needed, thus the price can be significantly cut. This is when I will begin developing a new campaign for the next group ideally, start preparing for taking on additional parties, or maybe just go outside for a bit...
Thank you for your time and consideration, please feel free to message or leave any questions you may have! I would like to have at least one party ready by July 1st, sooner would be great.
Hey Kyle, I'm incredibly new to D&D and it's definitely not something I've ever had a chance at trying before, but definitely something I want to explore. Are you currently open to having new players that don't have any experience whatsoever???
@Hestia00 I sent you a PM so we can get some communication going.
I have no issue at all with new players and actually prefer them, as I have created a lot of content for my friends to teach them how to play and enjoy having the opportunity of guiding players into the new world.
If anyone else is new and/or has some friends looking to try D&D. Let myself or Hestia00 know and we can try to organize something!
