Hello I'm Ray Ray and I have been a DM for over a year now. All the while I have been making the world of Myzanthia a reality. Myzanthia is based in modern times with a high fantasy twist. I accepting applications into my group. I am looking for 1 more player with detailed backstories to fit into Myzanthia. Ideally looking for a Cleric or Artificer, or a Multiclass of both. I am also looking for players who love to role play and get into their characters. My playing style is more role playing while still having combat. 60/40 RP/Combat.
I am looking for 1 more player in a group of 6 players, for a game on Mondays at 5pm PST AND I am hoping for a cleric or Artificer, maybe a multiclass of both. If you are close to San Francisco CA even better so that we may move to in person games when the time comes, but not recquired.! This game is high stakes so there is a chance you might die, your best chance to survive is to strategize, lvl 1 is very squishy. I do allow homebrew BUT at my discretion, it must be approved and well balanced before I accept it.
I want people who play well together, and get along well with each other. I love to have fun during games but we should be respectful in game and not bulldoze your way through other players. This is a team effort.! For that reason I will be hosting interviews to see who is best matched for our team. :) No murder hobos, no power players, no rude players, no stickler for the rules.
Myzanthia is a world that just entered the era of Arcana Tech, very similiar to our world but with a twist. Only the elites have access to this technology as it is very expensive and hard to makee. In the U.N.A. ,the very famous governor of Guilaira, Azoria has just anounced to the world that she is on the brink of new technology that will revolutionize the trade system of the world. Azoria is a famous wizard and war hero who convinced the leaders of the U.N.A that they needed to help the Orcan Empire fight against the Elven kingdom, which helped end WW11 and bring peace to the lands for 200 years. Or so they thought...
Why does your character want to meet Azoria.? Where is your character from.? How did they become their class.? What was your childhood like growing up.? These are all questions I would like to know to start.
I would also like to know this.

I'd be interested! I've got a goblin rogue that I think may fit. I will warn you though, I am a complete newbie, but I do watch D&D streams. So I have general knowledge, but may need help with rolls, healing and the like.
As far as my character goes, I'll just give you her background real quick. Kara was born with the name Kuqi in a goblin tribe. From a young age, she was used to rob others due to her tiny fingers. However, during one of their escapades, her entire tribe was killed by a group of famous adventurers. They decided to take her in, one in particular deciding to adopt her as his own. However, this was for nefarious reasons. The adventurer, a human barbarian known as Emer Marsk renamed her Kara and took her in as his apprentice of sorts, though he would claim her as a child to any who asked.
While this seemed like a positive development, this adventurer had a gambling habit. He would spend all his money and always needed more, so he used Kara to pickpocket and rob unexpecting folk. A few months ago, he was caught selling a ruby Kara stole and was arrested. Now, during his jail time, she is taking notes on all that is going around. She is hoping to restore her mentor's reputation and possibly release him from jail.

Character Name: Damian Bladesinger
Race/Class: Dhampir Fighter with the Noble Background (image is edited by me, but the base isn't mine. This is just a mockup.)
How did he become a Fighter?: After the siege of his home, he knew he had to be at his peak condition. His grandfather taught him everything he knew about combat with the sword, to which Damian truly lived up to his family name.
Where is Damian from and how was his childhood?: Born near a far-off village known as Dresshle (dre-sh-lee) ruled by his grandfather, Baron Trevor Bladesinger, Damian had a pretty interesting childhood. Being born a Dhampir, he was sheltered from outsiders for most of his youth. His grandfather wanted him to be safe, but he still took the time to care for him. But even then, he wasn't safe. Warriors from the outside world found him and attacked his family's home. After the siege, he was taught by Trevor how to fight. With that, he decided it'd be best to fight for his home, by finding new allies. He has accepted that he might never be accepted into the outside world, but he will face the fires of hatred... and never look back.
What do you love about DnD: Roleplaying above all else. Being a voice actor and an avid fan of Critical Role certainly helps.
Hi! Oh man, I've been looking to play a setting exactly like this. I love the idea of a modern setting twisted by magic and fantasy! I just sent you a friend request on Discord. Here's a bit about me:

A videogame is only as deep as the developers code it to be and just stops there. DnD can go as far as the DM and players' imagination, and it never has to stop. Also Critical Role is the bomb lol.

Character name: Lovlak the Devoted
Race/Class: Hobgoblin Barbarian
Lovlak's backstory is a little bit on the longer side, so I'll just leave a summary below for now:
Lovlak was raised by a band of goblins, and until the age of about 10, he didn't really know much besides smashing and stealing and running away when the first two weren't viable options. At some point, his goblinoid band was forced into the servitude and worship of an ancient blue dragon who referred to herself as the Blodghas and whose jaw appeared to be in a constant state of decay. Since this was the first figure that Lovlak became familiar with outside of his goblin family, he became a very devout follower of her. After a raid of an elven settlement went wrong and his goblin band lost their lives, Lovlak decided that nonsensical violence and petty thievery was no way to live and instead decided to spread the word and teachings of the Blodghas. Of course, if no one was willing to listen, then maybe the violence wouldn't be so nonsensical and the thievery would be well-intentioned.
I'm interested, I don't know how forgiving you are in scheduling because I'm concern that work might get in the way once in a while, I usually work from 1:00-5:00 pm or 10:00 pm at the latest Central Standard Time which is three hours behind San Francisco Cali. Richi 25, Him/He, Texas. I have two characters I am considering.
Background: Ren is a Pilgrim Monk that was born and raised by the Monks of the Monastery. The Monastery is an organization, and location that guards; historical treasures, rediscover the ancient, and mysterious history of the world, and tries to preserve peace, and order, where it exists. The primary agenda of the Monastery is to discover its origins, which is a mystery even to itself. Ren became a Pilgrim Monk to leave the grounds of the Monastery to perfect his Martial Arts. Monk trainees that have completed their training usually between the ages of 15 or 17 can choose one of six roles and schools of thought within the Monastery; Archivist, Counselor, Crafter, Pilgrim, and Sentinel or to separate from the Monastery. Ren is sent on a Pilgrimage alongside his friends and sworn siblings, Prim and Cole.
Possible reasons for why he might want to meet Azoria The Monastery is a peacekeeping organization as well, perhaps they are given a request by U.N.A or the Elven kingdom even, to act as a liaison assigning Ren, and his friends, Prim, and Cole alongside two other Monks, forming a troop to complete this pilgrimage.
Background: Goldemar is a retired adventure of moderate fame, now a wealthy businessman of great fame who lives the remainder of his days in comfort, at least that was his plan. He considers his custom crossbow as his prized possession.
Possible reasons for why Goldemar would want to meet with Azoria would to perhaps learn more about the new technology to understand how this will affect his company and subsidiaries and perhaps to convince Azoria that his company can perhaps help with commercializing it.

Alanar, was a wood elf kid born out of a couple of priests from a small elven village in the elven kingdoms, there he learned about the importance of respecting nature and everything that the world has to offer, especially the cycle of life, everything ends at one point, that death is not the end, but a new beggining. He had a calm childhood, where he learned everything he could about Sehanine Moonbow, the goddess of moonlight, protector of the elves, he learned how she helped the elves during the war against the Orcan empire, and even though they lost, her help reduce the lives lost by hundreds and how she despised necromancy, and the undead. All this information he got about her helped him become an avid follower, and that in order to help her, and pay her back for everything she did for the elves, he would dedicate his life fighting against the undead in her name. He learned how to wield weapons and once he finally became of age he decided to leave his village in order to spread the word of his goddess and destroy the undead.
Now he seeks Azoria in order to find out the truth about this new technology, iif this has anything related to necromancy in it, and if it does, to stop it in the name of his goddess.

The final Survivor of the Drog'Zakka Orc-Clan, Gundar has been looking to find a purpose in his life after his clans destruction, all he knows is that a Tiefling Warlock was involved, somehow... although it didnt exactly help that his clan of Orcs thought that "weapons are a cowards weapon" and exclusively fights by attacking his enemies with his fists. although he is willing to use weapons as tools: EG: Axes to cut down trees and Machetes to clear foliage.
like most half-orcs of his clan, they were taught that the only true way to fight anything was to defeat it with your bear hands alone, as weapons are used by cowards, and is honour bound to follow this rule, and, as the last member of his clan, he is also the Clan chief... by default so it allows him to wear the ancient set of Armour used for centuries by his Clan Chiefs... which was taken from a Human paladin centuries ago.
why would someone like this wish to meet Azoria/ he wishes to both find whomever destroyed his clan, and rebuild it, the Orcs of his clan always saw "orcs" as more a culture than a people group, so had humans, Halflings and even elves in his clan before its destruction.

Orion Brittlebark was born and raised in his high-rise tree village of Honeygrove. He was born into parent's Brewery business. Ever since he was young he was raised to work in the brewery, his social life, his personal life, and his professional life, all revolve around manufacturing and selling mead. Along with his parents, and 15 other siblings, they made up "Guild Brittlebark" who ran the business generation to generation. Spending his years under his parents forceful hand eventually grew wary on him. He loved the combat training with the Honeygrove militia and wanted to be a soldier; yet, he always feared the scorn and dissapointment of his parents. One day, he couldnt take anymore. He packed his bags, left a note and left off towards a human village to find a new life, away from his family were he would control his own fate.

What do you love about DnD: My favorite things about DnD are the interactions between the players and story, as well as the memories that come from the events. I am usually a laid back team player as I don't think hogging the spot light leads to good roleplay.
Why does your character want to meet Azoria.? Where is your character from.? How did they become their class.? What was your childhood like growing up.? These are all questions I would like to know to start.
I am a published author, so I can come up with a nice background quickly. I have played clerics many times in the past; creating one that is center more on healing is easy enough. I answered your post before I have the character because it is helpful to know what a DM wants in order to tailor the PC to suit.
I would also like to know this.
Name: Nedka. (On Discord I am Kitje Berg)
Age/Pronouns/Location: I am over 50. She. Olympia, WA.
Race/Class: Elf/Cleric. As I said, not drawn up yet, which gives me a chance to ask something. I am tried of playing humans. I like the Elf race. Since it is more RP and when it comes to combat, you want a healer, I can make an elf work by hanging back with a ranged weapon and keeping healing spells at the ready.
What do you love about DnD: I started gaming at age 12, spanning the first three editions. I gamed for 20 years, table-top, and ended in an AOL chat room. I have plenty of RP experience, I simply need to acclimate myself to the new technology. Twenty years of love when into my characters and campaigns. My characters become an extension of who I am, so I craft them carefully and play them skillfully. DnD is the only world where I truly feel that I can be myself. I have been away from it for a while, and I have deeply missed it.
I was a PC and a DM: I know my limitations as a PC and I game with the mindset that the DM is right, period, so I do not argue rules or rolls.
Currently Monday and Thursday are my best days, but if you game after 6 p.m., I can also meet on Sundays. As much as I love table-top, and I am in your time zone, I do not think a trip to San Francisco is in my immediate future.
Again, I have played clerics many times. The other class you mentioned is new to me; that is why I think I can suit your world better as a cleric. I love the class because there is a bit of brute and a bit of magic. I was in one futuristic game, and it was interesting. I am interesting in playing it again: no "Hail and well met," dialogue. Since I am offering a cleric, what would her source be?--assuming you changed the world from gods to technology. If you still want a god-dependent cleric, no problem.
With decades of experience behind me, I am a kind of newbie again due to all this online software, apps, etc. I am catching on with a little help from my daughter (grown, in nursing school). I am a nurse, too, but I might be handing my shoes over to her, not in a figurative sense.
Once I commit, I am all in. I will ride the game to its end (or my PC's end). A homebrew is especially fun because I have the attitude of "Just roll with it." I do not argue rules or rolls. I know that DM's like creating their own monsters, or taking some from the MM and tweaking them.
I do not know what more to say to make myself interesting to you or your game. I am happy to answer whatever questions you have. I look forward to hearing from you and jumping into a campaign.

Thanks.

Wait, is this all for me?
If so I will gladly answer.
