Centuries ago, the city of Phandalin was a prosperous center of trade, its coffers filled with the gold generated by the mystical Forge of Spells located in the nearby Wave Echo Cave. But then, one day, a horde or Orcs and evil wizards sacked the city. In the aftermath of the destruction all knowledge of the Forge of Spells and Wave Echo Cave faded into myth and legend. Now a small but growing frontier village has been founded upon the ruins of Phandalin, and many an adventurer seeks the lost entrance to Wave Echo Cave and the many treasures said to be inside...
Hello there, my name is Daniel, a relatively new DM seeking players to run the D&D Starter Set module Lost Mine of Phandelver. This is a very classically designed High Fantasy adventure set in the Forgotten Realms which involves players searching for the lost entrance to Wave Echo Cave while also defending the village of Phandalin from the various evil forces arrayed against it. The module will take players from levels 1-5 and was designed to introduce new players to D&D 5E (although veterans are also sure to enjoy the adventure). Please read the following for basic information about the campaign:
Game Schedule: We will be playing weekly on Fridays for 3 hours from 5 PM to 8 PM Mountain Time.
We'll be Using Roll20 for VTT
We'll Be Using Discord for Voice Chat
This is an LGBTQ+ friendly campaign: I will not tolerate homophobic or transphobic discrimination, stereotyping, or "jokes" (if you're the type who likes to make "I identify as an attack helicopter" jokes, do not apply). I will also not tolerate any sexism or racism in my campaign.
This Campaign is New-Player friendly: If you haven't D&D 5E before this is the perfect first campaign for you, as it was designed with beginners in mind!
I am an RP Heavy DM: I enjoy roleplaying and am looking for other players who enjoy roleplaying. No murderhobos, please.
No Homebrew or Unearthed Arcana
Only Forgotten Realms Races
No Evil Player Characters
Session 0: We'll be having a session 0 on Friday, June 11th from 5 PM - 8 PM mountain time in order to create characters, set table expectations, and set up the adventure. Please come to session 0 with an open mind so that you can create a character that meshes well with both the party and the campaign.
Make sure to include "Vivi" somewhere in your application to show that you've read the listing.

What do you enjoy, or think that you would enjoy, the most about D&D? I like the interaction with people along with character creation and story. It really appeals to the writer in me to just communally create a shared experience with a group of people.
Tell me about one of your favorite non-D&D related media (i.e. books, video games, anime, tv shows etc.) and why you like it: I'm picking this because I just finished season 5B, but one of my favorite series is Netflix's Lucifer. And the reason I like it is that it takes one of the biggest "bad guys" out there (the Devil) and spins a really great arc for him about self-redemption and getting over your own self-loathing and trying to find your own place in a universe that just seems random with a design that no one can understand. And if the Devil is worthy of that? Then why not you?
i thing I like most about dnd is the building of stories that happens naturally when the PCs interact with world. I have no experience with Roll20. I’m sure I could learn quickly though.
I like reading manwha and managa. I like the fantasy ones because I like the worlds the build.
Availability: Can say for certain Saturday All-Day, Weekdays after 6PM
Preferred role: Player
Game style: open, I like playing characters and telling stories but also love a tactical game.
Discord: OldMaggot#6148
I enjoy finding a good group of players and ideally playing the game together in a way where everyone's having fun and getting the experience they want out of the game. I love playing all kinds of classes so I usually just ask what roles aren't taken yet and go for those. I'm a performer and enjoy bringing that to the game but I don't push that performativeness on other people and their playstyles.
My fire-bending monk killed the BBEG by blowing up his privy.
My half-badger eldritch knight killed the BBEG by drowning them in the bath tub.
The BBEG Dragon liquified my favorite paladin.
The players in my Stone Age Campaign beat my BBEG version of Hannibal with an army of mammoth friends and the sheer irony of it all.
I swear I'm not chaotic neutral but it's funnier without context.
I am a new player and would love to try out this adventure. (Vivi) I'm good for multiple campaigns or one-shots.
Name (can also be a nickname): Jonathan, but my Character's name is Niks.
Discord Username (So I can contact you for an interview, you can PM me this if that's more comfortable): Naifaz#9340
Age: 40
Gender/Preferred Pronouns: Male he/him
Time Zone: EDT
DnD Experience: Less than one year. I've played a few times, but the groups always fell apart.
Roll20 Experience: I've got an account, but have yet to play a game on it.
What do you enjoy, or think that you would enjoy, the most about D&D? I enjoy the story tell aspect of the game as well as the adveture.
Tell me about one of your favorite non-D&D related media (i.e. books, video games, anime, tv shows etc.) and why you like it: The Shawshank Redemption. It is a great movie and can be watched over and over.
Greetings/D&D experience: Hellur! Been playing in the Adventurer's League in Portland, Oregon since 2017-2018; I left them because they didn't have enough DM's for face-to-face groups and they refused to help me train to become a DM for the Adventurer's League. This stubborn pest ain't going back to Adventurer's League if anybody bothers bringing up what I just said to them, because the past is done. Let sleeping dogs take a nap. (Vivi) several campaigns are preferable to me, though one-shots of "murderhobos" type wouldn't be dismissed out of hand. Played enough Halo, Resident Evil, and Dead Space games for that to not get old any time soon.
Name: Geoffrey (Irish-American with British spelling of name, pronounced like Jeffrey). Character name: (updated) choice of - Geralt Wesson (yes, inspired by guns and the TV series/video game franchise based on a Polish author's book series [yes, I read the books; I have the whole series]) or Sabrina Clanless (think fire breathing reptile and you're fairly close)
Discord Username: HK47IsADroideka#1959
Age/gender/pronouns: 27 years old; will be 28 years old by end of the month, June, 2021. Male. He/him/his.
Timezone: USA Central Time until November.
Roll20: brand new there.
Enjoy about D&D? I'd have to say making friends or the sense of community.
As for the last thing, World of Warcraft and lots of different games from 3 generations of Microsoft's Xbox video game console series means I'll talk your ears off if you let me. Just send a message to me through Discord since I'm not good at remembering time zones other than Pacific Time and Central Time. (updated) My character Geralt Wesson is a 75 year old Warforged level one fighter. Alternately, Sabrina Clanless happens to be a Gold Dragonborn whose village was massacred by Giants when she was 5 years old; she's a wizard who used that information (along with the saddlebags, exotic saddle, camel, and cart that also survived the village's destruction) to build a sage's aristocratic lifestyle for herself. That said, I should probably shut up for now.
What do you enjoy, or think that you would enjoy, the most about D&D? I've only played game on discord, but real life got in the way and our GM couldn't continue. I loved being able to meet new people and being a drama queen lol.
Tell me about one of your favorite non-D&D related media (i.e. books, video games, anime, tv shows etc.) and why you like it: I love Fantacy and my favorite movie is Lord of the Rings. Second would be the (Original) Star wars trilogy. I'm a sucker for a great story.
DnD Experience: I have been in a one-shot; a Humblewood that's still going on, and my first one which I found completely confusing so I don't think it counts.
Roll20 Experience: None
What do you enjoy, or think that you would enjoy, the most about D&D? I like the role playing and character development. I find combat OK but boring. And of course, ViVi!
Tell me about one of your favorite non-D&D related media (i.e. books, video games, anime, tv shows etc.) and why you like it: I love Terry Pratchett because his better books are simultaneously hilarious, biting satire, and rich with references to other literature.
Totally called it. My dad is a drama queen who plays World of Warcraft almost exclusively, and he's watched Lord of the Rings and the original Star Wars trilogy. However, (Original) Star Trek and the Star Trek stuff with Sir Patrick Stewart holds a special place in his heart. By "totally called it", I am referring to the fact of whatever group I join, a drama queen inevitably joins a short while later who watches me like an actor does a captive audience.
Roll20 Experience: Have an account, used it for one campaign with someone named Vivi, haven't touched it since.
What do you enjoy, or think that you would enjoy, the most about D&D?: Making new friends and immersing myself into new worlds.
Tell me about one of your favorite non-D&D related media (i.e. books, video games, anime, tv shows etc.) and why you like it: Music. I love singing and the feelings that music can make you feel. I also write bass lines in my spare time.
DnD Experience: I consider myself an intermediate level player. I have been playing 5e for about 3 years fairly regularly. I have also DM'ed a couple one shots.
Roll20 Experience: I have used it before but not very much.
What do you enjoy, or think that you would enjoy, the most about D&D?: roleplay and character moments are my favorite parts of dnd :) definitely also the Vivi lol
Tell me about one of your favorite non-D&D related media (i.e. books, video games, anime, tv shows etc.) and why you like it: dragon age inquisition is one of my favorite games because of all the little character moments and the lore. i really enjoy playing in a world where my actions have a real impact on the story. The Shape of Water is one of my favorite movies because, well,,,,,, i like the fish guy what can i say.
