I’m finally finding some time to return to D&D after about 2 years away, and I am looking for a longer term planned 5e campaign to get back into. I have played in a longer length West Marches style community in the past, as well as running through Tomb of Annihilation. I also started a few sessions into Ghosts of Saltmarsh, before our paid dm suddenly stopped showing up or responding to messages (a large prt of why I stopped searching for an online game at the time).
I am in my mid 30s, and my time tends to require a bit more scheduling these days, hence why I am looking for something a little more scheduled and regular in nature. I do not mind a weekday or weekend game but it needs to be at or after 8 pm Eastern US time.
I have had the chance to play under several different dm’s, all with different styles and preferred game content. I prefer a game where the rules arent completely ignored and done away with, simply so that there is a somewhat standard expectation, but the dm at the table having final say is fundamental to good group dynamics in my mind.
I am familiar and comfortable with roll20 and discord, as those two platforms were part of my past online d&d experiences.
I am happy to join a freshly forming group, or one already in progress, and am not firmly set on playing a specific character. That being said, having played a variety of classes in the past, I tend to enjoy more martial classes.
