If you thought dying was the low point of your life, obviously no one told you about the afterlife.
The bureaucracy and constant standing in the Death Lines in the vast Halls of Adjudication for the next Death Clerk to ask you the same questions you had been asked a million times and being questioned about every decision you have ever made in your life including retelling of your last mortal moments is to the point of driving you mad.
You watch others who can no longer take the incessant questioning snap, curl into a ball crying and rocking or become violent and attack the Death Clerks, which is quickly dealt with by little flying skeletal faeries called The Decreers. The Decreers are the escorts that take you to your final destination either up, down or if you break the laws of Bone City to the Endless Void or at least that is what you are told via the rumors of the Death lines that you wait in.
At last the interrogation has finished and you step out into the sprawling city, strangely it seems to be just like any normal city. The normal sights and sounds the only difference is the occasional Congress of Decreers..
All there is to do now is escape back to the material plane somehow.
