I am starting up a 5E westmarches campaign and right now I am looking for 3 (other than myself) DMs.
I am currently running a Westmarches campaign for students at my university, together with 3 other DMs. It is a lot of fun, however, due to the small scale of our school the active playerbase is not too big. This creates few opportunities to play DnD (although enough for our players) and does not satisfy my needs.
Thus: I want to recreate the concept, but launch it over here. In an active Dungeons and Dragons community where I can be certain all players will be invested (right? :P)!
I will go over the concept now, followed by what/who I am looking for and who I am exactly:
Concept:
Multiple DMs run a westmarches campaign in a homebrew world for ~15-20 players. I want a maximum of 20 players who are all invested in playing for a longer time.
One central starting hub for the players. Generally, all sessions should start and end here.
Medium/high-Magic fantasy setting.
Flexible scheduling. A DM can set up a session date up front, players can sign-up to it if they are available. Only play when you can and want to. Aiming to have 2-3 sessions a week, depending on availability.
Therefore, who you play with can, to a limited amount, vary from session to session too!
Plot hooks/quests can be provided by the DM, but also by players who want to chase their own interests.
Starting hub is heavily influenced by the players actions. It will grow and become wealthy (or crumble) in reaction to their decisions.
Roleplaying by post (out of session, think of downtime activities etc) possible too.
Token system to keep track of sessions participated in so all players have a fair chance to play and it is not first come first serve.
All sessions must be independent of what players are playing (except level restrictions). However, sessions can have influence on other sessions and larger influential events/storylines will be present.
Logbook of sessions played for future reference. Check the subreddit r/CodamWestmarchesDnD for reference. All posts with the "session log" flair are written by players, thus creating their own library of references and notebook for other players to know what happened in a session they did not attend.
We will be playing online, platform still open for discussion.
Who am I looking for:
Dungeon Masters who are willing to invest themselves into creating a world together and running games for our players.
You desire to make new friends and like working together!
You play DnD to have fun!
You are older than 18 and younger than 35 years old. Not because we need a mature audience, but because I do not desire a large age-dependent mentality difference.
You must be available for longer term and have time for a "larger" scale project like this.
You must be knowledgeable of DnD 5E. You can apply if you have never DMed before, but this will not be an "easy" campaign to run, so do so with caution. Lots of flexibility and working together is required. Different DMs can mean different playstyles, but not different rulings.
You must be available at CET (evening) times.
You must be open to constructive criticism, and you are not allowed to give any other form of criticism to the others.
The first few weeks/months will require regular DM meetings to set everything up, before we can start looking for players and start playing.
You must start your application with something along the lines of "Hi Ghosty, I understand!", to indicate you've read and understood evertyhing here
You must agree with everything in this code of conduct, make sure to read at least the bold headlines: The Code of Conduct All points stated above are open for discussion, but you will need a strong argument to change any one of them.
Who am I:
I am a 21 year old male DnD fanatic. I have about 2 years of experience, playing 1-3 times week and DMing half of those games. I live in the Netherlands. I am studying to become a programmer and have a part-time job working in that field already. I love socializing, organizing and DnD. If you become a colleague DM in this project you are likely to become my friend ;)
There is a lot more information to be given and things to be decided upon/discussed, but we will get to that once I receive your application. I'd love to hear a bit about yourself (no personal information needed - think about DnD experience, motivation, maybe cool ideas?) via a PM. Make sure you read the whole post before you apply.
Any questions you have before applying you can ask below!
