Got a group of 4 who are looking for a weekly group. All have discord with mic, and have some experience. Pretty open to format, just want a good DM. Would be great to join existing or new group. Paid is okay. DM would get $100 payment after session zero for time and materials. Then $10/head per session.
Game: D&D 5e, Roll 20 or Foundry VTT Group preferred: Online Experience: New to Beginner Location/Timezone: 7-8:30 ET start time Availability: Monday, Wednesday-or Thursdays, 3-4 hours per session. Looking for one day a week. Preferred role: 4 Players, Need 1 or 2 more Game style: Looking for good mix of roleplay and combat.
I've been DMing since 2E back in the early 90's and playing since basic D&D and AD&D (before they called it 1E). I love LOVE LOVE 5E, and I've run a few good games already. So I might be convinced to run a game for some newer players; I've even got a few modules in mind.
At this time my one concern is that 4 is playable but a little on the smaller side for an adventuring party. If we could pick up one more, that would be better. Two more and we're in the lap of luxury.
We can discuss the particulars at session zero. We can chat on discord if that works for everyone: https://discord.gg/zhqyDxr2GS
I'll be looking forward to hearing from you.
P.S. I'm used to getting paid in store credit for running games at comic shops and game stores. Real currency would be a nice change of pace. I do not phone in sessions or half-ass preparation. To give you an idea of the quality and depth of my game customization, here are a couple of my submissions to DMsguild:
I've been DMing D&D for over 8 years now, starting in 3.5e and working my way upto 5th Edition. Along the way, I've picked up some tricks and firmly planted them up my sleeve, and I'd love to show them to you along the course of a game! I love working with newer players because blank slates always enjoy the experience more with a good DM. I have some ideas about the type of game that I'd love to run, I have modules picked out along with some great homebrew options if they're more your style.
My Playstyle: There is a range to my playstyle. I can run a railroad story based game just as well as a sandbox go-anywhere-do-anything type game, and I'm decent at homebrewing settings of my own as well as playing already established modules. I own pretty much all released D&D books and can import in spells and information for you to peruse. For groups that like maps, I can provide battlemaps as well as city-maps for ease of reference but if you like theatre-of-the-mind, I can do that pretty well too.
What to expect in a game I run
-> A long term game that runs consistently every week for a long time.
-> Rewarding of unique solutions and deviations from the story based on your actions.
-> Your actions actually changing the world around you.
-> Going entirely homebrew if needed.
-> Rule of Cool being honored.
-> A serious enviroment for roleplaying and yet having fun as much as we can.
-> A memorable time that you will hopefully enjoy.
-> Lots of Roleplay.
What I provide in my games:
I use animated battlemaps when the chance arises
I have Syrinscape and Music that I load into Roll20 individually with a curated playlist depending on the game you're playing
I'm always available, at any given time
I import any and everything that you may need
I will homebrew classes, races or subclasses with you to make sure you enjoy the game
I always have Dynamic Lighting based battlemaps for any combat that you might go through
I consider myself a decent storyteller and also decent at improvisation
I own all the modules available on Roll20 and have put alot of my own money into them
I will make token macros for anything that your character can do to make things easier.
Hope you'll consider me for your group!
You can contact me on Discord at OriginalUsername#4148 if you're interested.
(My sessions typically are 60$ per player per month.)
Thank you for the awesome responses! Not only for responding but for taking to time to explain. Not sure if the info below changes anything for you.
I got a couple of things to add to my original post. I'm planning to leave this up through the weekend and then let the group decide based on the responses.
We would like to add 1-2 more players (6 total max). So if you are a player(s) interested please respond as well. We are two couples in different parts of the country, the players do not need to be a couple. Just need to have discord with mic and whatever else the DM requires. And want to have fun, playing as a group, and trying to follow the DM's plot hooks. Please be committed. Adults only please.
Looking to start soon, and play through August. Then decide from there on continuation or any changes. Prefer Roll 20 or Foundry, but open. Also one player mentioned Rime of the Frostmaiden if possible. But we are flexible.
4-6 is the ideal range. I can roll with that, no problem. 4 is more like a minimum, but 5-6 is better. Feel free to drop by my discord (https://discord.gg/zhqyDxr2GS) and chat about the particulars or just say hi.
I can work with Roll20 or Foundry, but you know what I really like is Tabletop Simulator. It's nice to be able to pick your minis up and move them around as well as actually pick up and toss dice, but then I'm a physics junkie.
Hey There, sorry if It gets full, but I might be able to fit your schedule! My discord is kertisboi#2553, but I might not make the cut considerung he number of people.
It seems like there's enough interest for the extra player slots already, but in the case things happen to fall through with others, I'd like to make my own interest known too.
I'll save a longer introduction for if the opportunity for me to join does come up, but a quick version of it is: I'm completely new to DnD but eager to play. I write as a hobby and have forum roleplayed a fair bit over the years, so the storytelling aspect of the game gets me most excited, but I also like learning details and spreadsheets--so all the mechanics, stats, combat, and how those things can be used to translate a character from one's head into the game is fascinating.
Hey hit me up on discord Zebra Strike#9785 if you still need players.
Im very new to dnd and looking for a good long term group with other newer people to learn with. 24 years old. Sounds like a really good group for me so let me know if you need me!

Hi there, I'd love to be one of your players for a Tues/Wed/Thurs night group! I'm reliable and moderately experienced :)
