Part 4: Disclaimer
We want to personally thank anyone who has taken the time to read about our project. We are passionate people with a drive to succeed, so you must be, too, to have gotten this far. We understand this seems like a lot to fit into a bag of holding, but for streamed campaigns turned businesses, (who wouldn’t want to get potentially paid for a hobby?) it is imperative that we screen effectively and efficiently for the right fit. We hope to see you in our DM’s soon!
Both those timeslots should work well for me barring some work scheduling
I have been doing theatre for the last 4-5 years and have participating in a number of plays and was a speech team captain in high school. I also used to DM a D&D podcast for a small stint as well
At the moment I am looking to play a very duplicitous and cunning bard (College of Eloquence if possible)
I'm really looking for a campaign with a lot of roleplay opportunity because I feel like that is the best way to fully flesh out a character beyond just the features on their character sheet.
I have never experienced permanent death, but strangely enough I welcome it as a consequence of the rolls or bad actions. I also think permanent death is always a very monumental experience for all the players at the table and could offer an interesting dynamic for the party the rest of the way through.
Since I was the one crafting the story I think my favorite part of my campaign was how invested all my PCs were in the story. It made me very happy to work on the campaign knowing that my players would be excited to see what I made.
Barring my podcast, my last DM had a very hard time making everyone feel involved with the story and making it cohesive. I like to feel, even when I'm not being directly spoken to, incredibly invested. Even though I like to be surprised by twists and turns I also like to feel like we are following a storyline rather than completely making off-the-cuff decisions (even though those impromptu decisions make some of the funniest moments in D&D)
I religiously watch/listen to Dimension 20, NADDPOD, and Dungeons and Daddies. These are all highly comedic podcasts that have an amazing balance of dramatic comedy which is probably my favorite genre of storytelling.
My favorite thing about homebrew is that you can slightly alter already existing statblocks and items to fit your campaign making a hodgepodge of fun/cool features that fit with your PCs. My least favorite thing is probably the fact that how difficult it is to balance some things with homebrew items making things either over or underpowered.
My laptop comes with a 720p webcam (I'm currently shopping for a new one), and I use a RODE PodMic to record things.
My name is Haelley, I am 21 years old and I currently live in Oregon for college. I would not consider myself a D&D veteran by any means but I have played for about 4 years on and off. I consider D&D one of my main passions in life and have really enjoyed seeing it become more prevalent in the media with time. I think what you’re gearing up to do is really exciting and I look forward to seeing it grow either as a player or viewer!
I can commit to the Tuesday time slot without a problem but I cannot say the same for Wednesday because of my one evening class.
I can’t say I’m a social butterfly or that I seek out the spotlight, but I did really enjoy theater in high school and do a lot of public speaking now in college. I never played major roles in theater but I do have experience on the stage as secondary characters (and was even in a few musicals). I think more importantly for me is I am a writer. I do a lot of fiction writing and have a passion for storytelling, it’s one of the things that first really drew me in to D&D.
Personally, I have never had a favored class/race but I do have a running theme of making characters who find their heart in the party. I really enjoy making characters who start out a bit selfish but are thrust into a group and then slowly discover they care about these people and have to wrestle with how vulnerable but happy that makes them. For example, I have been playing a druid aasimar named Shiv for over a year now that was a hermit before the campaign started and was very okay with never seeing another soul again. But their home in the woods was ruined and they follow this group in hopes of finding a way to fix it along the way but discover after a few life or death (and one actual death that they were thankfully revived from) situations that they genuinely love these people. I think I would also enjoy playing a character that considers themselves moral and on the good path but then has to struggle with morality in shades of grey.
As much as I love the tried and true D&D nobodies to legendary world saviors sort of arc, I have recently really loved Critical Role’s Mighty Nein. I think they are all these broken people who are not out to save the world and be heroes but they are trying to do good and in the process have done great things. I think my goal as a character would depend greatly on what I build but I do have a tiefling pirate that says she is in it for the renown and riches but honestly just wants to understand her place in the world since her parents didn’t want her (her brother being a sorcerer but she ended up without magic in anyway).
I have experienced a permanent character once and boy did that suck. I am really grateful it was only a level five character but I had already put so much heart into it that it really was like losing a piece of myself. It was the first encounter with the BBEG and to be very honest, the PCs were all idiots and insisted on making this fight happen. The DM had warned us in several small ways that we shouldn’t push too hard but we did and I ended up dying. I was the party cleric and resident healer and I was out of spell slots keeping everyone else up, and the final choice was to play to my character and heal someone else or metagame and heal myself so we could all run and survive one opportunity attack. I played to the character and went down as we ran. There were a lot of tears and arguments in character from the other players about what happened and it nearly drove the party apart but meeting my new PC and some very beautiful symbolism from the DM made it for a wonderful new beginning.
My “last” campaign is probably my current home game with Shiv and I think my favorite part is how we have grown into RPing our characters. We all made these people who hold their cards close to their chest and at first we struggled to work together but we have had these moments where people almost die or someone is threatened and we see these really powerful bits of RP that really make it all work. An example being, when Shiv was knocked unconscious for the first time. Shiv and Kordh are private people and barely spoke, but there had been moments of role play in actions (giving the other tea after battle, helping teach the other how to use a sword, etc). And then the first time Shiv went down in this big battle, Sam (who plays Kordh) interjected that while Kordh was a samurai trained to be calm and precise in battle, he was now swinging with wild abandon and looked almost feverish to make it all end. We have had a few more moments like that that will hold real places of happiness in my heart.
I think I have really lucked out in the DM department for a while now. He is really attentive with how his players are feeling and is a wonderful storyteller. It is really obvious in how he describes places and encounters and lore that this is a world he has poured his soul into and I have an immense amount of respect for the time and effort he puts into it. I think if I could change one thing it would be how he handles the silly situations. He doesn’t discourage it or make us feel bad for “going off topic” but it would also be nice to have those opportunities for silliness to come up a bit more.
I adore Critical Role and am so grateful to have found it when I did. I watched the first episode of campaign 2 in February of 2020 and then quarantine happened. Suffice to say, I am now happily watching live. I have also started to dabble in Dimension 20’s Fantasy High and have been recommended The Adventure Zone by a few friends and hope to start it soon.
My favorite homebrew rule is Matt Mercer’s Fading Spirit which, if you don’t know, is his way of making character’s temporary deaths more impactful. He makes resurrection a ritual that is set like a skill challenge and then makes the DC to get them back harder for each death they survive. My least favorite homebrew rule I’ve encountered was making all spells, including area of effect spells, an attack roll.
I can acquire a decent USB mic on Amazon before streaming and have a webcam that is separate from my laptop that works at 1080p!
What is your location? State/Country and Time Zone. (International Players are welcome to apply) Missouri/USA CST
Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? (15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.) Yes
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience? Yes. I have been in multiple bands and have a lot of stage experience. I also did a bit of theater in college.
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. (Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.) My very favorite is the Cleric. With a Cleric I can play nearly any type of character, from a strict healer to a fighter to a magic user. And with that I can craft the character to be a charismatic party leader marching the party into battle or a humble servant of my god quietly following a group of good friends. But all of the joy of the Cleric doesn't mean I don't enjoy other classes, close runner ups for me are the Bard, Rogue and Fighter.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc.. With any character, I enjoy discovering who this person is and why they are doing what they do. Every character has a story, and that story grows with the party (s)he joins. I'm looking to join a group that wants to tell an amazing story, and in the end, provide me a quality experience.
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome? Yes, but not my character. After nearly 8 months of playing weekly, a party member fell in a battle with a Roper. While the party was victorious in the end, our favorite Halfling didn't make it. The player took a month off before creating a new character and rejoining, which allowed us to finish the campaign. We did spend nearly an entire game following the death morning our friend and telling stories of past adventures.
What was the best part of your last campaign? Maybe the best part was also the worst part, with the death of our friend. While the death was terrible, spending an entire game telling stories was an incredibly enjoyable game.
What is one thing you would change about your last DM? This is a difficult question. I wouldn't change anything about anyone in our game, who they are is what makes the game what it is.
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy? I enjoy the Dungeon Dudes Drakkenheim stories and recently started watching WASD20 Live.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules? Once in a one-shot, the DM had a rule that a nat 1 would injure the person attacking, and you had to role the damage to yourself. While the rule applied to the enemy as well, it didn't make it very fun attacking yourself.
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream? Currently I use the webcam installed on my laptop and AirPods, but am capable of getting whatever equipment is needed.
Yes, this time slot works on both Tuesday and Wednesday for me.
Very comfortable, I’ve done theater and musicals in the past, and give regular presentations for clients at work, both live and digitally.
I’ve always wanted to play a changeling character, sorcerer, that as herself was a very timid and meek person, so she would ‘collect’ the forms and personas of individuals she meets on her travels and shift into them as needed to mask her insecurities. Or maybe a bookish artificer so completely focused on his inventions he doesn’t even realize how poor his social skills are.
I want to be able to connect with the game and the other players in a real, emotional way. Experience my character come to life complete with flaws, rivals, mentors, and aspirations, then journey together as we explore the world, overcome our pasts and become true companions. Oh and don’t forget the loot, lots and lots of glorious loot must be accumulated.
The first character I ever played died to friendly fire from our wizard’s fireball. We were in a tough situation, and I assured him I could take it... unfortunately the dice failed me and I could not in fact ‘take it’. We were all pretty new to the game and were not much into RP back then so I wasn’t to upset about it. Since then I’ve mostly been a forever DM and have only sat on the other side of the table for character deaths. Some have been tougher than others and stirred some intense emotional responses, but those are the characters we never forget.
Our last campaign was Descent into Avernus, and without dropping any spoilers there are some pretty significant decisions the PCs have to make towards the end with wide ranging moral consequences. Hours were spent, mostly in character, discussing how they would proceed and it was just absolutely amazing to see everyone so involved.
I’ve been our groups DM for the last six campaigns, the guy before me was honestly an amazing DM, great storyteller and very good at tying our characters into the world, unfortunately he bailed on the campaign after a few months, so I guess I would change that about him. What would I change about myself? I love to freestyle and just let the story flow in whatever direction the characters take it, but... I’m terrible at taking notes mid-session, and my quickly scribbled one word reminders of what’s happening can be very challenging to decipher later.
Critical Role, Adventure Zone, Roll20 Presents, and DorkTales, are some of my favorites. Matthew Colville’s DM series is awesome, and DungeonCast is great for lore.
I don’t use much homebrew in my games, I’ve tested a few over the years and none of them really stuck with me.
2.I can commit to either tuesday or wednesday night no problem.
3. I don't have any theater experience, but i am comfortable talking in front of people.
4. I like to play tanks or heavy melee/front line kind of guys. It's fun for me to be the guy who is first to throw a punch/swing the heaviest thing he can find and have to be restrained because he is "that" guy. Not in a malicious way, just the guy that lives for the challenge of a good fight and doesn't hesitate to jump to his friends defense.
5. I am looking forward to roleplaying in a campaign with a group of people that are as willing to take risks and put themselves out there because thats what leads to great moments and stories. I would like to make a character that could find someone worthy to support and become the kingmaker, rather than the king themselves. Not to mention, have a lot of fun along the way.
6. I haven't had a character die yet, the only character death i have been around we managed to resurrect. Our DM worked it into the story, making a quest from the local temple to get the things we needed to resurrect him. Was an interesting side mission that tied in to the main plot he was working on.
7. My last campaign would be my current campaign which is still pretty new. The best part so far has been the natural punishments that our DM throws at us for not being cautious enough, whether forgetting to check for traps or hanging around too long behind the rest of the group and getting ambushed by ranging monsters and needed to be rescued before we die.
8. My last DM was a good guy and loved it but he was running a premade module (Rime of the Frostmaiden) and he tended to just be a slave to the framework. Couldn't shake the feeling that we were being railroaded. Not sure if that's the way that official campaigns run since that was the first one i had done.
9. I am listening to Adventure Zone right now, and i just got caught up on Dungeons and Daddies. I am also about half way through campaign one of Critical Role.
10. My favorite homebrew rule that i have seen is not being able to insight/deception check your fellow PC's. Really forces role playing to be more authentic and makes it much harder to metagame. the least favorite is probably one that my DM came up with regarding travel rules and roles. its all dice rolls and pretty much forces metagaming to avoid the pace being dragged down. If you can't tell, I don't like metagaming, drives me crazy!
11. I have a Nexigo 1080p webcam which works really well for my Zoom and Google meet calls.
I like characters with motivations, fears, personal rules, ticks, and a particular voice (I fancy myself an amateur voice actor). My favorite characters that I've played are Brandish - a crippled gnomish bard who lost his lover and leg to vampires, he owns a tavern and refuses to use mind-manipulation magic, believing memories to be too precious to mess with. Zaxil - lizardfolk paladin of Oghma - true neutral - very cold and direct, wears no armor but has a 19 AC, and believes knowledge is arcane - to be protected, and not necessarily understood. I like to play characters that create some sort of "positive friction" in the party and are a source of comedy - whether intentional on their behalf, or not. I love bards and paladins, and don't particularly like playing as completely spell-reliant characters.
Story investment, character development, and a chance to be entertaining.
Not me, and not quite a death. As a DM, the party was introduced to the BBEG for the first time. They were given the options to kneel, die, or leave the town. One of the players stood up to her, and said he would not kneel, and he would not leave. They failed a saving throw, and were turned to stone in a defiant pose. While not dead, he was out of commission for around 10 sessions, as their player played a guest PC who helped reverse the stone change.
The comedy created by the interplay of Zaxil, his party members, and npcs is just constant. This makes the serious moments all the more impactful due to the usual light-hearted nature of things.
Just to differentiate the npcs through "roleplay quirks" a little more.
I watch some critical role, but generally do not consume a ton of dnd content.
My favorite homebrew is "glancing blows" where rolls to hit that equal AC or AC-1 are "glancing" and deal half damage. I dislike confirming criticals, and critically failing at skill checks.
2. I can make it every session with that time slot
3. I have some experience talking in front of a crowd so I’m very comfortable doing it, was in theater arts for 2 years
4. Characters who have some kind of dark past or history that they’re running from and can’t face, someone born of nobility and tragedy struck leaving them in such a vulnerable state, proud warriors who wish to reach the pinnacle of what they are
5. Im hoping my character with their said goals can accomplish them at whatever the cost may be
6. I was a DM for 2 and a half years in a campaign and when one of the party members died it was a very emotional experience, the players formed bonds with these characters so in a way it hurt me as well killing that character
7. The best part of my last campaign would have to be the conclusion of it, the sweet victory of defeated the final boss and avenging a fallen comrade
8. I would have tried to be creative with explaining scenery
9. I enjoy watching Critical Role and some other smaller groups I tend to pop in as much as I can
10. I don’t have anything in particular that I have a favorite of or dislike
11. I have a Yeti microphone and a Logitech 1080p webcam
Looking forward to working with everyone if I’m accepted
HI - I am Dave and in my 50s- i am looking for a new DND experience and stumbled across this thread as i was looking - please find my answer below
What is your location? State/Country and Time Zone. (International Players are welcome to apply) - I am located near Chicago Illinois
Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? (15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.) - Either time would work, Wednesday would be preferable but Tuesday would work.
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience? I was a theater rat and have been Role playing for 4 years now
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. (Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.) i have a tendency to fill in the character as the party needs, i prefer spell caster to melee, but have played melee character for sure - i enjoy characters that on a quest for a greater personal growth , to discover a mystery about their past or to become the greatest at their skill. I am quiet flexible.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc.. to learn something about myself in the progress of the campaign -
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome? yes - it was actually my character - it was something that happened in my first campaign after 9 months of weekly play - it was a shock at first , then i took over a NPC and that became my new character - it made me realize death is part of life and what these Characters do is dangerous
What was the best part of your last campaign? the camaraderie of the group to be honest
What is one thing you would change about your last DM? - prepared maps - he usually drew them during the game
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy? Critical role : Relic and Rarities
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules? potions as a bonus action is a plus
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream? Open to procuring what is recommended
1. What is your location? ------- Ontario, Canada (EST)
2. Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? (15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.) ------- Yes. I do, however, work until 7PM, and it takes about 15 minutes to get home.
3. Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience? ------- I am, yes. Though I haven't had direct theater experience (class), back in high-school, it was an arts school, and I worked alongside the theatre kids during musicals, and have been a writer more than ten years.
4. What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. (Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.) ------- The character I have in mind for this campaign, is different from my usual choice of barbarian. She is my blind half elf multi class, of bard and monk. She grew up with the monks, however, lost her sight when she was twelve, her vision left to only light/shadow. She would be choosing the college of Eleoquence. I have an entire backstory summed up for her (all of my characters), with spaces left open to adjust for the specific lore of the universe they're thrust into.
5. What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc.. ------- I have quite a bit of enjoyment from coming up with atypical characters to play, and to see their character development come about, through the experiences they go through. For the aforementioned character, her specific goals revolve around being able to become stronger and more confident in navigating her surroundings, away from the safety of the monastery with the monks. To have the ability to be independent, while also relenting in her stubbornness to ask for help when needed.
6. Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome? ------- I have experienced both of these in another form. As a writer, I collaborate and write with others. Including writing partners I've been writing with for ten years now. Ten years of plots and arcs is a little much to explain, but there was an overall slow burn of characters grieving, each in their own way and not always healthy, before getting to a point eventually, where they accepted what happened... mostly. They didn't have to handle the death alone (and in one case, it was my own character who had been killed off), and slowly moved on while never forgetting. And at times, falling into old habits when the memory of the other and their death became too much.
7. What was the best part of your last campaign? ------- The best part of the last campaign, is actually a campaign that is still going on. I can't collectively choose a single moment, but the specific moments where the characters are talking or planning, or getting ready to act? The most beautiful part is seeing how each, individual character reacts to different situations. The collective personalities interacting with one another is beautiful, and it makes for a lot of laughs or angst or overall feelings.
8. What is one thing you would change about your last DM? ------- Not the DM in my current campaign, however in the one previous.. I would change how his actions (or lack thereof), with the blatant rasist, sexist, and homophobic comments a few members of the group were making. It wasn't handled well (or at all), and despite those players coming in later in the campaign, and I having been there from the start with a few others, I was the one that left. The inaction was a turn off, and I no longer had interest in playing with those players or that DM.
9. What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy? ------- Relics and Rarities will forever hold a special place in my heart, and is to date my favourige campaign on YouTube. However, dimension20 (specifically Fantasy High), is definitely a follow up!!
10. What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules? ------- I haven't the opportunity to play a homebrew yet, so I don't have a lengthy answer for this. However, I did love a lot of the house rules that Deborah Ann Woll had set up in Relics and Rarities.
11. What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream? ------- I use the camera on my phone for now, as my laptop is 10 years old and things don't work properly. However, I will be acquiring a new laptop in the next couple months, and will be using that, along with my Bluetooth headphones that I've gotten no complaints before. But if that sound isn't crisp enough, I could invest in a microphone, for sure, as well as a better webcam.
What is your location? State/Country and Time Zone. (International Players are welcome to apply) I'm a US Floridian rockin' the EST.
Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? (15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.) Yes I can. I am a night owl. Bring it on!
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience? I have at least 23 years of experience in making a damn fool of myself (which does include 16 years of theater experience). I should be fine.
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. (Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.) I LOVE playing as multiple characters or characters with companions. If I'm a Wizard, I'll always use Find Familiar to have that smaller companion. If I'm a Fighter, I'll try to be an Echo Knight so I can control the battlefield the way a fighter should. If I'm an Artificer, I'll go Artillerist or Battle Smith to have that extra weapon/companion on the field to aide my party. And, if I'm a Ranger, I'll go Beast Master or try to be Drakewarden so that I can have a battle buddy my character can do cute things with while not in battle (and I can now do the same thing as a Circle of Wildfire Druid!!). One of my favorite campaigns was when I was a Tabaxi Artificer Artillerist storming Strahd's Castle with his Force Bastilla named Bastion and a Tabaxi companion from his backstory that I could also control (they had started as a vampire subordinate for Strahd until I was able to free them from his influence late in the campaign). As we fought Stahd's forces, my main character wasn't pulling the rolls needed but my walking weapon and my companion were able to pick up my slack so I was still useful in the fight in some way. (And, in case you're curious if that was a bit overpowered compared to other characters, the other player characters had all been cursed with super-jacked abilities due to some dungeon delving in a previous session, so it was okay that I had some extra help in dealing some damage myself). With that said, I tend to have to fill up the role of healer because no one in the campaigns I've played like to heal. Even when they choose cleric with the intent to heal when they make the character, I ended up being the only healer after my Rogue had to multiclass as an Artificer after the campaign started because even the cleric wouldn't heal others (this legit happened in my first campaign).
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc.. I do my best to make characters that have flaws and can grow. Playing the stagnant character is an absolute bore. I enjoy seeing how one's character can interact with the world around them and change/evolve along with it. Whether it's through achieving a goal I originally plan from when I make the character or having a Pixar moment where there's a surprisingly better goal to be reached...or whether my character is allowed to change willingly with the world or be forced to change alongside it...I enjoy figuring out how to deal with the flaws of the world and my character in whatever way comes.
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome? While I personally have yet to have any of my characters die...my Monday Crew does have that one guy who goes through characters like Kleenex because they keep making these poor decisions that result in either him and/or half of the party getting killed. Like, he was killed by Strahd in one campaign after trying to initiate a fight with him at Level 5 while he only had one hit-point after just being brought back by me...he died to a Gorgon in a one-shot because he was a cleric that didn't bother getting healing spells or greater restoration...and one decision he made in the current campaign put us all in the middle of a massive Duergar army and 3 out of the 5 party members (including himself) were slain. In the end, the DM we have made things either as epic or as comical as he could to make the death's not as bad and, after a moment to talk and reminisce about the character(s), we helped them cope with the loss as they put together their next character(s). Basically, even when we do not understand why people would put themselves in a situation that could get them killed, we do our best to make them feel better as we move on.
What was the best part of your last campaign? If this is about the last completed campaign (which happened to be my first), then the best part of my last campaign was probably just finally getting my foot through the door and trying out D&D. I'm eternally grateful for my Monday crew for being the first to play with me and I'm looking forward to what's in store with every campaign I ever take part in (that and being lucky enough to get the final strike on big bad Strahd himself in my first ever campaign).
What is one thing you would change about your last DM? Setting rules on how Milestones work in one's campaign. I'm currently in another campaign that runs on Thursdays where we started at Level 3 and, after fighting an unexpected monster in an abandoned manor, going on a stealth heist to retrieve a highly wanted artifact, and dealing with a cursed temple with an unexpected Umber host boss fight within, we're still at Level 3. (Now, to be fair, the DM themself is a really nice person...but it does seem strange that so many things are happening while staying on the same level; especially a level as low as 3).
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy? Insert "Critical Role is amazing and it's what finally got me to play D&D" here. Also "The Adventure Zone" was one of the first campaigns I ever experienced and Brian dying on Bryan will always have a place in my heart.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules? While I'm still learning the rules of D&D and may not know what rules are considered official or homebrew, I know that I'm a fan of being able to role 2 hit-point dice when you level up and choose which rolled number you can have as your added HP. I'm also a big fan of Matt Mercer's "Fading Spirit" rule for turning revivals into a ritual due to the added suspense of "did it work?" (I also prefer having my DM's roll for one's death saves for the same reason.)
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream? I currently have the webcam of a gaming laptop and a Fifine Technology microphone that has been working well for me for my other Discord-based campaigns. (I also may or may not have a voice changer app on my laptop...). If that is decided to not be enough, I have the money and means to get something within a couple days that would work better.
What is your location? State/Country and Time Zone. (International Players are welcome to apply) -I am a simple gal from Belgium my time zone is UTC+1
Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? (15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.) On Wednesdays no problem but it is more difficult on Tuesdays. On Tuesdays, I can only be on early and on time one week and then not the next week. If that is a deal-breaker that's quite understandable.
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience? I'm very comfortable with talking and rping with other people dnd is fun because of the interaction. I have theater experience in high school I studied it for 3 years.
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. (Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.) I mostly like playing a magic-based character but am very comfortable playing class if it fits my characters. Each of my characters isn't very chaotic but I do love players who do it, I mostly like to play a morally grey character which I design around the campaign. I like working in lots of small details to each character which spices them up to feel more like a real ''human'' being. I want to play a scholar or druid like figure in this campaign who experienced a life of strangeness which would give them a unique perspective of the world and would have to grow accustomed to the world around them through the campaign. I keep a lot this a bit vague since I want to give most of the info to the dm. For my character that I like to play, I try to leave a lot of space for growth which gives ample space for character development.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc.. I finally want to play a more rp heavy campaign in the other groups that I play in the campaign is not very rp heavy which I understand for each their own but I love rping and creating characters and embodying their emotions so much that I want to do it in its full and not hold back. (Sorry for the large amount of and's)
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome? We had a death of a party member most recently when the best friend of my character died, everyone and especially her were all very close to him but it was not to be. The characters grew from it and thought our party the lesson that this isn't all as simple that it seems to be dead is inevitable and we have to do everything in our power to survive. The character thought they were untouchable until that moment. (It was also my favorite rp moment I've ever had I was crying)
What was the best part of your last campaign? It is the people in the group we have been playing together in different campaigns through quarantine and I could not ask for better friends to meet. Also the dm she is amazing at creating lore it is a sight to behold I do a lot of dming and rp comes easy to me but she can conjure up elaborate schemes and they make perfect sense.
What is one thing you would change about your last DM? She is also still my current dm on a different date but the group and her arent that much of rp people, I wouldn't change them for anything but i wanted to seek a more rp heavy place. (Also sorry for the number of times of rp I'm just very passionate about it.)
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy? I've watched some critical role, Unsleeping city, and a Theros campaign that I'm currently watching. I'm not the biggest fan of watching dnd but I like to see other people's rp style and learn from it. For me most of the fun comes from playing and learning the characters that we create.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules? I love me some good homebrew and homebrew rules I don't have the least that I've experienced yet. But my 2 fav's are feat at level 2 (can be amazing for rp) and a short rest takes 10 minutes but that one is more dependant on the pace of the campaign.
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream? The mic that I'm currently using is the Blue snowball and the cam is just a simple Maccy 2K 30fps camera.
If you don't want me in the campaign that is fine if that is the case I hope you all enjoy it c: My discord is Quen #7035 and of course, you can find me on dnd beyond haha.
I can commit to Tuesdays without any issues. Wednesdays I can do as well but I'll have to miss one session each month for personal reasons.
Yes, I can be a bit shy at first but I easily open up. I had some years of theatre experience, performing on stage, in-class and in front of a live audience. I do have an AA in Theatre (emphasis on Stage Management) so I'm fine talking and performing in front of people.
I'm not sure why I'm having trouble answering this question. I enjoy a multitude of types of characters, ranging from quiet, observant cleric to a charismatic and idiotic barbarian. The kind of character I want to play are normally magic users in some way (the barbarian I have, for example, is going Path of Wild Magic). Although, I do have a thing for playing a warlock though, I feel like the pact between a warlock and their patron can have soooo many possibilities, conditions and story moments that further a character's development.
What I'm looking to get out of the campaign with my character is character development, some good RP experiencing moments of varying degrees of emotions and intensity, challenges/choices that will sometimes put us as players to our limits at times and also having a lot of fun doing it too. Looking to creating memories with other players.
Not in a D&D setting but in another TTRPG called Vampire: The Masquerade. Our group likes to do games in seasons like in TV shows, so this was pretty much the finale for that season. There was an arena and whoever had a score to settle will be settled in that arena, it was kinda like a battle of truce, momentary cease fire between two factions in our story. A player character went up against his brother and lost, we all watched it happen. The emotions was pretty mixed, I felt bad for the player, it was really crappy, we were all shocked. It was really unfortunate, cause the fight could of gone either way. In-game, my character didn't care for much of his, because he was extremely controlling and my character had to suffer a lot because of his actions.
Again, season finale but for D&D, we were fighting the BBEG riding an ancient red dragon and we were on a magic flying carpet, it was a lot of going on but it was so fun because it was all aerial combat. My favorite part of the encounter was that my character was given a choice. My character was grappled by the BBEG and jumped off the flying carpet onto the dragon, bringing me along with him. A teleportation spell was being cast and my character asked "Where are we going?" the dragon said "Going home to mom". Now my character is a sorcerer with Counterspell, my DM knew that, but he didn't cast it out of curiosity of who his mom is and where he came from, and that was a defining character moment (after all campaign of not having one for my character).
One thing I would change about my last DM? Not much, after the game, we talked about what we like, what we didn't like, what should be different, we are still learning, even after a lot of experience, there's still a lot to learn.
For D&D campaigns, Queens of Adventure and Critical Role, I haven't really reached out to other campaigns but I should, mostly because of time and mood. Although, I recommend Queens of Adventures, it's drag queens playing D&D and I am living for it. I do like to listen to random D&D videos on YouTube, mostly informational ones on classes and campaign stories.
Hmmm I don't think I have a favorite homebrew rule or a least favorite one, I know on critical hits, some say roll dice and double it, others say double the dice roll, either one is fine.
HyperX Cloud Alpha (it's a gaming headset), my cam is Logitech C270 (specs say 720p/30fps). I can get a better webcam (I tend to stream games on Twitch and I'm still deciding whether or not to have my webcam on for it.)
What is your location? State/Country and Time Zone. (International Players are welcome to apply)
Michigan/USA, EST
Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? (15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.)
I can commit to that time slot (9:30pm to 1:30pm).
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience?
I am comfortable talking in front of people, but my only theater experience is behind the scenes as a tech person.
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. (Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.)
I am almost always a DM. The few times I play, I enjoy tank-like characters that allow me to get in the thick of a fight and protect other characters. From a roleplaying perspective I enjoy finding quirky, morally ambiguous architypes that challenge classic fantasy tropes such as ugly = evil, and dark lord = bad guy.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc..
I’m looking to enjoy roleplaying within a system I enjoy. My goal is to have fun.
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome?
I haven’t ever had a character of mine perish, but I have killed a good many of my players’ characters. A number of years ago I had a TPK in a Mage, The Ascension campaign.
What was the best part of your last campaign?
The most fun part of my current Monday night Pathfinder 2.0 campaign is utilizing technology such as Roll20 to bring a new dimension to roleplaying games. Dynamic lighting, and automatic rolls speed up mechanics and provide more time for actual game play.
What is one thing you would change about your last DM?
I am almost always the DM. My last DM was a professional D&D DM who beta-tested various rule sets. I wouldn’t change anything about him.
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy?
Unfortunately, I have to compartmentalize my D&D media consumption. I am married with a child and I have very very little time for hobbyist media outside reading websites. I also work a 40+ hour week.
I loved to read Ravenloft novels, and I absolutely love the Ravenloft setting.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules?
I have no knowledge of homebrew rules that work well or poorly, so I cannot answer this question.
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream?
The built-in mic and camera on my Mac are pretty good. I run Zoom events for a University, so I should be fine from a technical perspective.
1. What is your location? State/Country and Time Zone. (International Players are welcome to apply) I'm in North Carolina in the US, EST time zone. 2. Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? (15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.) Yes, either of those would work for me! 3. Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience? I am a therapist, and I have led multiple workshops for other therapists. I also have experience leading martial arts classes and teaching at the college level, and I was involved in some theater when I was younger. I am quite comfortable talking/performing in front of others. 4. What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. (Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.) Embrixen, a dragonborn wildfire druid with red and gold scales who embraces the dual roles of fire in nature. Embrixen was raised in a tribe that preferred to live apart from the "civilized" world and consisted of diverse races, including dragonborn, wild elves, wood elves, orcs, shifters, goliaths, humans, and dwarves. Embrixen's tribe embraces nature and magic as a more authentic existence and is suspicious of the people who live in the cities. Recently, however, the most significant threat to their tribe has been unnatural creatures that have been threatening the ecosystem in the tribe's homeland. Embrixen sets out to discover what is causing these unnatural creatures to invade their beloved home. Merellien, a sea elf swashbuckler rogue sailor who lives for adventure and exploration. Merellien is constantly on the move, joining new crews at every port he visits, eating, drinking, and meeting new friends and lovers every night he isn't at sea. He's charming and affable, but those who watch him closely will notice a cloud over him whenever he allows himself to be still for a moment. What haunts him? What is he running from? Nallak, a way of mercy gith monk who discovered that the githzerai outpost on the material plane that he grew up in has been destroyed and all of its residents slaughtered. Who caused this destruction? Was it a githyanki raid or some other threat to his people? 5. What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc.. I love exploring characters and getting into the mindset of how they would think, and I love seeing the interactions emerge between characters in the party. My only goals are to have fun role-playing and to experience a good story. 6. Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome? I’ve only experienced this in watching campaigns like Critical Role, and I have loved how Matt Mercer incorporated that death into the storyline for the campaign. I DM for two different campaigns, and I recognize that permanent death is a real possibility depending on the decisions that characters make and on the roll of the dice. I would be disappointed if my character died; at the same time, I would find a way to grieve the character and move on to a new one. 7. What was the best part of your last campaign? I’m DM for two different campaigns at the moment, and my favorite part of these campaigns is coming up with new, interesting experiences and challenges for the players. In the last campaign that I played in, my favorite parts were when players were fully immersed in their characters and fully engaged in the roleplay between characters. In general, my favorite parts are when the DM has set the stage well and can just sit back and let the magic between the players happen. 8. What is one thing you would change about your last DM? My last DM seemed more focused on story-telling than on roleplaying, and I would have enjoyed the experience more if he enjoyed roleplaying as much as the party did. That said, he was a great storyteller, so it was a good experience overall! 9. What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy? I love Critical Role and watch their show every week. I also listen to Dragon Talk occasionally. 10. What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules? Favorites: Deborah Ann Woll’s rule of adding both players’ modifiers when one is helping the other (instead of giving advantage on the roll). Matt Mercer’s fading spirit rules for resurrection. My own house rule of bad things that can happen on a critical fail on an attack (e.g., succeeding on a dex save or losing your weapon, falling prone, etc.). And Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything made this an official rule, but I have allowed my players to assign ability score bonuses to any ability since I started as a DM. Every race needs strong fighters, nimble rogues, wise clerics, and intelligent wizards, and limiting the ability bonuses doesn’t reward interesting race and class combinations. Least favorite: While there are certainly homebrew rules that I don’t use, I can’t think of one that I actively dislike. 11. What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream? I have used the built-in webcam on my Microsoft Surface for my meetings during the pandemic, and it has worked very well. It has a 1080p/30fps camera, and I would be happy to purchase a mic if needed.
What is your location? State/Country and Time Zone. Currently in reside in the FROZEN Waste of Central Ohio, US Time Zone is Eastern
Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? Both of these days and times work well for me.
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? ABSOLUTELY!! I have a little experience in theater, however my job and profession requires me to speak in front of large crowds weekly, as well as in front of individuals online.
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? This is the fun part for me. I am an open book. My limited experience with playing DND provides an opportunity for me to not be married to an established play style/class/or race. Being apart of the creation, establishment, highs and lows, maturing with other players and NPC's is the journey of a character I am most excited to not only participate in, but also to enjoy the ride of development.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Super appreciate this question. For me, first I see this as an opportunity to further my understanding of life, culture, the human condition and my own wounds and triumphs in the context of community. I also see this as an opportunity of discovery with not only those playing the game, but those on the journey as a community of followers and spectators. How awesome in the midst of our wonderful humanity that we can take time to grow individually and corporately!
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? I have not. I have experienced the loss of close loved ones in real life, and am not afraid of the emotions, and impact that it would have in a campaign.
What was the best part of your last campaign? To be honest, I haven't been apart of a campaign, only a few one shots with some friends.
What is one thing you would change about your last DM? Their confidence to be their own DM.
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy? Ive watched Critical Role since episode 20 of season 1 (Friend turned me onto it, and so began my rabbit hole into this wonderland) . I also like to watch a variety of Twitch D&D stream campaigns with low viewership to find the next diamond in the rough!
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules? The thing I like most about homebrew is its unchartered territory which excites the adventurer in me! Not sure if I have any qualms about homebrew.
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream? I have a webcam on my computer, but am willing to do whatever is needed to upgrade my system to enjoy this awesome opportunity.
Thank you again for this opportunity, I am looking forward to hearing back and journeying forward!
2: I can commit to this all the time as I have nothing going on those days
3: I comfortable talking in front of most people, online is much easier for me to talk for some weird reason.
4: My current character that I would like to play as is an Eladrin elf sorcerer that has a dragon bloodline origin. If I'm unable to play as that I would be more than happy to play as an elven rouge as those are my preferred races and classes.
5: I'm looking to get some good xp and have a great time roleplaying because roleplaying is the best!
6: I have never died myself and the only other person I know who has died got taken to the pit of hades and we had to go and get him back. Unfortunately that campaign ended abruptly so we didn't get to finish.
7: The best part of my last campaign and all my campaigns is the roleplaying, I absolutely love the enjoyment of listening to how things pan out and making my character be funny, serious or just super powerful.... Usually by sheer luck.
8: The one thing I would change about my last DM is commitment, they didn't have much of it towards the game and without a knowledgeable dm there would be no dnd.
9: I love watching random youtube videos of dnd, my favourite is the yogscast dnd sessions they have because its very funny, they dress up and sometimes animate what's happening.
10: I'm still a pretty new player with dnd so I'm quite unfamiliar with homebrew rules.
11: The webcam I can use is in my laptop and i would have to use the microphone on my phone through discord as it is much better than my laptop mic.
I am co for table talking in front of people. I’ve only done theater in middle school but I’ve work as a game master for escape rooms with acting being heavily involved.
I would be interested in playing a Bard, a Druid, a Ranger, a Rogue, or a Warlock. I haven’t played those characters before and would enjoy something other than a brute fighter armored holy man. I have no character concepts yet but one I know what the party has, I’d pick my class and go from there. Having a story within a day.
I’m looking for the opportunity to develop my character naturally. Goals tbd.
I am currently playing my characters still and have not died.
Searching a hag’s lair, my friend and I found a dragon egg and have committed to raising it.
Trying to play our characters. Making character changes without consulting me.
Critical Role
Allowing characters to use strength for intimidation instead of charisma if characters are using physical might to intimidate is pretty cool. I don’t think I have one that I don’t like yet.
I use my iPhone camera for video and a gaming headset for audio, with laptop for Roll20 and dnd beyond.
Hello. I just wanted to say thank you for opening a position in such an exciting venture.
1I’m located in Southern California, USA so that would be PST time zone.
2Yes, I can dedicate myself to the 6:30-10:30pm PST time slot, including time for tech rehearsal, on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, although I prefer Tuesdays.
3I’m a science teacher by profession. So yes, I’m comfortable talking in front of people. And yes, I’m comfortable talking in front of peers and strangers. I also do have performance in my background from being in choral performances at the high school and college level as well as some singing in churches. If I play a bard, I will sing. You have been warned. I don’t, however, have theater experience, but am eager to learn. As for improv skills. I'm a teacher. Every class is improv.
4I’m most comfortable playing a warrior or rogue of some sort. That doesn't mean I can't play other roles because my primary role for most of my DnD experience has been as DM. I grew up reading Conan by Robert E. Howard and loved the vivid detail. I also think that it’s possible to be a barbarian and not a brute. If you want something more concrete, I'm currently trying to find a home for my lost kitten, Jakt Blacklaw. Jakt Blacklaw is a tabaxi that was raised in the back alleys and grew up picked on for being the only one of his kind in the city. He has no idea who his parents are or why they left him there. Jakt grew up honing his anger and became an enforcer of the Thieves Guild, as no other household would take him. One day he was given bad information and killed the wrong person, leading to him being excised from the Thieves Guild and on the run from the City Watch. Now Jakt is on the run just looking for a new place to shelter. Lately, he has begun hearing things and is wondering if he's going crazy. In actuality he will follow the Path of the Ancestral Guardians and, if DM permitting, multiclass into rogue to become a Phantom. So a barbarian ghost cat? I'm open to not min-maxing my character if the game is more focused on roleplaying and not a murder-hobo campaign. (Up to the DMs which way to take the multiple plot hooks in the open background. Parentage, bad intel that led to the murder was intentional or not, what is 'home' for Jakt, why are his ancestors choosing to speak to him when he has no culture connecting to them other than through blood)
5I want to fully flesh out a character and have him grow. I’m a staunch believer that flaws make the hero. I also love growing with other players and developing exciting teamwork moments. That’s in a broad sense. Specifics will have to depend on party makeup and what character I build.
6I haven’t had much experience in that regard because most of my experience in RPing has been as a DM. How would I handle it? As a PC I would mourn the passing of the character. Afterwards there would be a new character inserted into the party and I’d probably treat them with some mistrust, at first. Events and PC personalities would determine how things would go from there.
7As the DM it was great revealing that the really evil quest giver was in fact the past evil spirit of a trapped liche that the party had grown accustomed to and carried around trapped inside of a shield. As a player it’s when my character, who’s a stuck up nobleman, was assisted by a party member and I had the opportunity for my character to grow and reevaluate how he treated others. i.e he became less of a jerk and learned how to not refer to others as “commoners”.
8 I wish my last DM gave more opportunities to world build instead of having a constant dungeon-grind. Using downtime is something I would have really appreciated, even if just to use skills to make some extra coin while the mage used time to research spells or something.
9I am currently listening to Critical Role and Dungeons of Drakkenheim.
10I recognize that multiclassing and feats are optional rules and like them a lot. As for homebrew rules, I like what I call ‘Crits Plus’: where the crit has a secondary effect like knocking someone prone or hitting a partymember. If it could be formalized with a table of rolls, that would be fun but would probably eat up time and should be left to the DM to just ‘wing it’.
11I currently have a 720p camera (Logitech C310) with built-in mic but if you admit me I can get better equipment as fast as Amazon delivers it. I also am using a solid gaming PC if that makes any difference. Also, good internet connection that is good at streaming.
2. I am able to do Wednesday. (As a heads up I do go to school on that day and out by 5-5:30pm)
3. I’m ok with talking to people might stutter at first and might use that as part of character.
4. I am hoping to play a hunter that lives off the land and some experience with people and small towns but is very confuse/uncomfortable being in large city. Looking to play a fighter/ranger.
5. My character is looking to be the best at hunting/tracking and gathering. But my character will have to learn that you can’t do everything yourself and that to be the best you have to rely/depend on others to help you out.
6. I have never experienced the permanent death of party members.
7. Best part was when our party defeated a banshee that would constantly try to spawn ghosts and make the floor disappear from under our feet.
8. I have nothing that I would want to change with my last DM
9. I have watch Critical Role, Xp to level 3, and I’m about to watch the Unexpectables.
10. The only homebrew rule I have experience is that on critical hits you roll another damage die instead of doubling the damage die
11. I am using a gaming laptop with a built in camera in it and using a gaming headset that has a mic.

Based upon applications and amounts, We will be holding interviews roughly within two weeks of the posting (02/09/2021), so the last week of February.

We understand this seems like a lot to fit into a bag of holding, but for streamed campaigns turned businesses, (who wouldn’t want to get potentially paid for a hobby?) it is imperative that we screen effectively and efficiently for the right fit. We hope to see you in our DM’s soon!
Hi!
Missouri/USA CST
Yes
Yes. I have been in multiple bands and have a lot of stage experience. I also did a bit of theater in college.
My very favorite is the Cleric.
With any character, I enjoy discovering who this person is and why they are doing what they do. Every character has a story, and that story grows with the party (s)he joins. I'm looking to join a group that wants to tell an amazing story, and in the end, provide me a quality experience.
Maybe the best part was also the worst part, with the death of our friend. While the death was terrible, spending an entire game telling stories was an incredibly enjoyable game.
This is a difficult question. I wouldn't change anything about anyone in our game, who they are is what makes the game what it is.
I enjoy the Dungeon Dudes Drakkenheim stories and recently started watching WASD20 Live.
Once in a one-shot, the DM had a rule that a nat 1 would injure the person attacking, and you had to role the damage to yourself. While the rule applied to the enemy as well, it didn't make it very fun attacking yourself.
Currently I use the webcam installed on my laptop and AirPods, but am capable of getting whatever equipment is needed.
1. Washington State, PST
1. Timezone is CST, Texas
(15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.)
------- Yes.
(Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.)
------- The character I have in mind for this campaign, is different from my usual choice of barbarian.
I'm a US Floridian rockin' the EST.
Yes I can. I am a night owl. Bring it on!
I have at least 23 years of experience in making a damn fool of myself (which does include 16 years of theater experience). I should be fine.
I LOVE playing as multiple characters or characters with companions.
Insert "Critical Role is amazing and it's what finally got me to play D&D" here.
Also "The Adventure Zone" was one of the first campaigns I ever experienced and Brian dying on Bryan will always have a place in my heart.
I currently have the webcam of a gaming laptop and a Fifine Technology microphone that has been working well for me for my other Discord-based campaigns. (I also may or may not have a voice changer app on my laptop...). If that is decided to not be enough, I have the money and means to get something within a couple days that would work better.
-I am a simple gal from Belgium my time zone is UTC+1
On Wednesdays no problem but it is more difficult on Tuesdays. On Tuesdays, I can only be on early and on time one week and then not the next week.
If that is a deal-breaker that's quite understandable.
I'm very comfortable with talking and rping with other people dnd is fun because of the interaction.
I have theater experience in high school I studied it for 3 years.
I mostly like playing a magic-based character but am very comfortable playing class if it fits my characters.
I finally want to play a more rp heavy campaign in the other groups that I play in the campaign is not very rp heavy which I understand for each their own but I love rping and creating characters and embodying their emotions so much that I want to do it in its full and not hold back.
(Sorry for the large amount of and's)
We had a death of a party member most recently when the best friend of my character died, everyone and especially her were all very close to him but it was not to be.
The characters grew from it and thought our party the lesson that this isn't all as simple that it seems to be dead is inevitable and we have to do everything in our power to survive.
The character thought they were untouchable until that moment.
(It was also my favorite rp moment I've ever had I was crying)
It is the people in the group we have been playing together in different campaigns through quarantine and I could not ask for better friends to meet. Also the dm she is amazing at creating lore it is a sight to behold I do a lot of dming and rp comes easy to me but she can conjure up elaborate schemes and they make perfect sense.
She is also still my current dm on a different date but the group and her arent that much of rp people, I wouldn't change them for anything but i wanted to seek a more rp heavy place.
(Also sorry for the number of times of rp I'm just very passionate about it.)
I've watched some critical role, Unsleeping city, and a Theros campaign that I'm currently watching.
I'm not the biggest fan of watching dnd but I like to see other people's rp style and learn from it.
For me most of the fun comes from playing and learning the characters that we create.
I love me some good homebrew and homebrew rules I don't have the least that I've experienced yet.
But my 2 fav's are feat at level 2 (can be amazing for rp) and a short rest takes 10 minutes but that one is more dependant on the pace of the campaign.
The mic that I'm currently using is the Blue snowball and the cam is just a simple Maccy 2K 30fps camera.
If you don't want me in the campaign that is fine if that is the case I hope you all enjoy it c:
My discord is Quen #7035 and of course, you can find me on dnd beyond haha.
Michigan/USA, EST
I can commit to that time slot (9:30pm to 1:30pm).
I am comfortable talking in front of people, but my only theater experience is behind the scenes as a tech person.
I’m looking to enjoy roleplaying within a system I enjoy. My goal is to have fun.
I haven’t ever had a character of mine perish, but I have killed a good many of my players’ characters. A number of years ago I had a TPK in a Mage, The Ascension campaign.
The most fun part of my current Monday night Pathfinder 2.0 campaign is utilizing technology such as Roll20 to bring a new dimension to roleplaying games. Dynamic lighting, and automatic rolls speed up mechanics and provide more time for actual game play.
I am almost always the DM. My last DM was a professional D&D DM who beta-tested various rule sets. I wouldn’t change anything about him.
Unfortunately, I have to compartmentalize my D&D media consumption. I am married with a child and I have very very little time for hobbyist media outside reading websites. I also work a 40+ hour week.
I loved to read Ravenloft novels, and I absolutely love the Ravenloft setting.
I have no knowledge of homebrew rules that work well or poorly, so I cannot answer this question.
The built-in mic and camera on my Mac are pretty good. I run Zoom events for a University, so I should be fine from a technical perspective.
1. What is your location? State/Country and Time Zone. (International Players are welcome to apply)
I'm in North Carolina in the US, EST time zone.
2. Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? (15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.)
Yes, either of those would work for me!
(Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.)
Embrixen, a dragonborn wildfire druid with red and gold scales who embraces the dual roles of fire in nature.
Currently in reside in the FROZEN Waste of Central Ohio, US Time Zone is Eastern
Both of these days and times work well for me.
ABSOLUTELY!! I have a little experience in theater, however my job and profession requires me to speak in front of large crowds weekly, as well as in front of individuals online.
I have not. I have experienced the loss of close loved ones in real life, and am not afraid of the emotions, and impact that it would have in a campaign.
To be honest, I haven't been apart of a campaign, only a few one shots with some friends.
Their confidence to be their own DM.
Ive watched Critical Role since episode 20 of season 1 (Friend turned me onto it, and so began my rabbit hole into this wonderland) . I also like to watch a variety of Twitch D&D stream campaigns with low viewership to find the next diamond in the rough!
The thing I like most about homebrew is its unchartered territory which excites the adventurer in me! Not sure if I have any qualms about homebrew.
I have a webcam on my computer, but am willing to do whatever is needed to upgrade my system to enjoy this awesome opportunity.
Thank you again for this opportunity, I am looking forward to hearing back and journeying forward!
1: I live in England :)
Hello. I just wanted to say thank you for opening a position in such an exciting venture.
1 I’m located in Southern California, USA so that would be PST time zone.
2 Yes, I can dedicate myself to the 6:30-10:30pm PST time slot, including time for tech rehearsal, on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, although I prefer Tuesdays.
3 I’m a science teacher by profession.
4 I’m most comfortable playing a warrior or rogue of some sort.
5 I want to fully flesh out a character and have him grow. I’m a staunch believer that flaws make the hero. I also love growing with other players and developing exciting teamwork moments. That’s in a broad sense. Specifics will have to depend on party makeup and what character I build.
6 I haven’t had much experience in that regard because most of my experience in RPing has been as a DM. How would I handle it? As a PC I would mourn the passing of the character. Afterwards there would be a new character inserted into the party and I’d probably treat them with some mistrust, at first. Events and PC personalities would determine how things would go from there.
7 As the DM it was great revealing that the really evil quest giver was in fact the past evil spirit of a trapped liche that the party had grown accustomed to and carried around trapped inside of a shield.
9 I am currently listening to Critical Role and Dungeons of Drakkenheim.
10 I recognize that multiclassing and feats are optional rules and like them a lot. As for homebrew rules, I like what I call ‘Crits Plus’: where the crit has a secondary effect like knocking someone prone or hitting a partymember. If it could be formalized with a table of rolls, that would be fun but would probably eat up time and should be left to the DM to just ‘wing it’.
11 I currently have a 720p camera (Logitech C310) with built-in mic but if you admit me I can get better equipment as fast as Amazon delivers it. I also am using a solid gaming PC if that makes any difference. Also, good internet connection that is good at streaming.
1. California (PST)
