Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online, Discord (Voice) and Tabletop Simulator (Platform) Experience: Veteran Location/Timezone: US EST (GMT -5) Schedule: Weekly (May occasionally switch to biweekly). Sundays at 3pm lasting 3-4 hours. Roles sought: Looking for players! Game style: casual, roleplay, hack'n'slash
Hello! I am looking for players who are interested in playing D&D via the game Tabletop Simulator! I just find that the game 'simulates' tabletop in person better than every other program I have used thus far. It also more easily fits my DM style than any other platform. The reason being, I can easily draw on the board without much hassle. This allows me to improv a game much easier as a DM. Additionally, we will be using Discord for voice and music. The only issue we may run into is host connection, so hopefully it doesn't come up as an issue.
When I first started DMing D&D, I did almost solely improv. Sure, I would prep a general idea for a session or some area I know the players are going to go, but otherwise it was an improv game. Think of it as a sort of sandbox. As I became more experienced, I wanted to build out my own setting in detail and fully prep multiple aspects of the game. This led to burn out quick. Coming back to D&D, I have decided to try and get my improv stride back via my roots, Tabletop Simulator! I may be a bit shaky at first, but bare with me and I am sure we will all get a flow going for the game.
I am fine with new and veteran players alike! I have a little over 5 years experience DMing. I aim for the game to be a bit on the casual side with roleplay, but don't be surprised if the game becomes serious in story or character development as time goes by. I also do not hold back punches as a DM (unless I find the punch unfair on my end). I may go easy on new players, but once everyone settles in, I do not hold back. This does not mean I have a player versus DM mentality. It is simply that I do not fudge rolls unless I find myself to have over tuned something or a similar dilemma occurs.
Players will be starting at level 1. Stats will be 4d6k3, reroll if less than 70 or take 27 point buy. I have a loosely homebrewed world that exists for the bare essentials of D&D, details of which I will disclose when players are accepted. Exact details such as nations, history, and so on will be developed as we play.
If you are interested, simply post here the following...
Years of D&D: many years of AD&D, Rollmaster, Masquarde (in the 80's) lol just started back with 5e and started playing in a roll20 paid group I would say I'm coping fine with the new rules and game play
Preferred Class: I'm happy to fill in empty slots for what a party needs. Interested in Sorlock, Paladin/Warlock, or Assassin. My historical experience is in Ranger type characters Drizzt types. I'm currently playing a Barbarian.
TImezone: Arizona, we don't do day light saving time here lol (mountain)
Years of D&D: about 1 6-8months, from face to face, also with table top simulator, roll20 and fantasy grounds.
Preferred Class: been playing hexblade plus paladin lately but i'd like to try hexblade with fighter or rogue and try making/experimenting with a dex based fighter.
This sounds pretty cool! you never know where things will head when there's no plan lol!!!
Years of D&D: still pretty new, I've been in 3 to 4 campaigns before. I've watched a couple of games before and want to get into more team dynamics.
Preferred Class: I've made this Cleric character recently that I relate best to, but I can also try to make a quick build if Cleric is taken.
I'm new, I'm enthusiastic about trying roleplay, meeting others and learning about their characters. though I won't enforce roleplay too much, just something I feel like I could get into if people are about it. :p
Experience: veteran 20+ years playing Location/Timezone: Atlantic Time Zone (GMT-4) Availability: Available Friday nights and Saturday Preferred role: Player (retired DM) Game style: Looking for a campaign style game with a mature dedicated group. Casual friendly players. (No head games) Role playing with NPC and some with PC's. There was not very much role paying between players in the games I have played in before but will to give it a try.
Years of D&D: Oh gosh. . . lots? I played a ton of 3.5ed in junior high & high school and a years of Pathfinder after that. All in its probably a little over a decade. I'm usually a player but I have DM'd a few one shots here and there. I have not played any 5th edition but I'm somewhat familiar with the rule set and learn quickly.
Preferred Class:I've been wanting to try out the 5th ed bard but I'm pretty flexible. Happy to play what fits in with the party and campaign.
Sounds like this would be a lot of fun. Hope to hear back from you.
Years of D&D: One year as a player, upwards of eight years as a viewer. Was introduced to 4E back in 2013, never got the chance to sit in on a session other than as a spectator. Watched friends play on and off for years, got back into watching when COVID first hit. March to October 2020, was unemployed and spent up to 6 hrs a day watching online streams and recordings.
Preferred Class: If all classes were available and I was asked first what I wanted to play before anyone else in the group, I'd say Artificer as first choice, Paladin second choice, Druid third choice.
Years of D&D: Almost two years playing every week. We play 5e, started out playing only 4 hours a sesh but now play 12 hours a sesh. Only ever played with one group so just wondering what it's like to play with other people. I also have two years experience on an improv troupe?
Preferred Class: I'll play anything but Cleric, but my favourite class is Warlock. I lean towards CHA and INT based classes in general.
