I am looking for 1 to 2 adult players to join an ongoing Eberron-set campaign. The party is currently level 5, and on the tail end of a dark, and complex mystery. The current preference is for players with experience with the game, but especially on the role-playing side of things. I’m looking for players who are playing to take part in a fun and interesting story first.
A little bit about the game, and how our group plays:
I run a sandbox, my job is to put fun, shiny toys in that sandbox, and your (the player’s) job is to play with them! However you see fit. I am not a fan of running closed, linear storylines, and I love playing off what the players inject into the narrative as well as improv in general.
This is a narrative first campaign. I do not live and breathe by the rules. The rules are a tool we use to tell a story the way that we want to tell it, if a tool doesn’t work we will fix it, or get a new one! Homebrew is very much a thing I do and fully support players to explore as well! We have a homebrew goal-based experience system for character advancement in the campaign right now (we are testing it).
We are all equally a part of the game at this table, I reject the typical notion that the GM is the authority for all group dynamics. My only authority is over the world we play in, and how it reacts to your characters. Group dynamics are for the whole group to sort through. That being said, we do have expectations at the table. To be mindful of all other players (including gm) at the table, to strive to enhance the story for everyone else, and support them, as they will support you.
Also, we are a voice only group, using discord and roll20. With the voice only medium comes its own challenges. Its very easy to talk over people, and have the voices of others get drowned out in the excitement of the game. We want to make sure the players joining us bring strong table etiquette and know how to pick moments, and read the room. We are all open minded adults and are accepting of anyone and everyone who wants to play. The game itself is a mix of dark mystery, fantasy-esque mad science, and also absolute batshit whackiness.
The game itself is weekly on Saturday nights starting usually at 6p.m. (PST) and runs for about 4 hours. Keep in mind that we are looking for consistent and long-running players, so make sure that you can commit to this time before you respond. Let me know if you are interested by DM’ing me. Please include a bit about yourself, what you value in a dnd game, what kind of player you are, etc.. And last but not least please send me a couple character concepts! Not the character you want to play, but just some off the cuff examples that will help to tell me the kinds of characters you enjoy making!
Thanks to all who have read this far, and I look forward to hearing from you!
