Looking to build a friendly group of 4-5 like minded players to play Princes of the Apocalypse.

Campaign will be run via Discord voice chat and Foundry VTT. Game night will be every Saturday 6pm UK time (GMT+1). LGBTQ+ friendly. Over 18s only please.

This is a long term adventure which will take many months to complete so it is important we all get on well. With that in mind I will be running one shots first to audition players and build a group that click. Starting with "The Pit Of Mortem".

The Pit Of Mortem

Carved out of the remains of an abandoned OwlBear den, the Pit of Mortem is a blood soaked, trap filled, hole of death fighting pit where you may hear your name chanted to the roof as you win glory, honour and great treasure or where you might just get to see your own innards spilled in a steaming pile onto the floor.

There is only one rule in the pit; two fighters jump in, only one climbs out!

I am looking for 16 players to play this fun, one night pit fight, knockout competition.

No magic. No weapons to start. All players not in the pit are spectators and can gift weapons to either fighter, and the DM will also gift weapons for good RP. Audience members can also make range attacks on the pit fighters and hinder or help them in anyway they can imagine. Play is theatre of the mind just using discord and dnd beyond. All players except the fighters will be muted during combat and may post any actions they want to take in the chat.

You can use any class / race for your pit fighter but remember there is not magic in the pit. If you eventually end up in the main campaign with you can create a new character that better fits the campaign if you want to.

Round 1: Qualifiers - 8 fights of 8 pairs randomly picked to fight, the 8 winners go through to quarter finals.

Round 2: Quarter finals - 4 fights of 4 pairs randomly picked from the winners of last round, 4 winners go through to semi finals

Round 3: Semi finals - 2 fights of 2 pairs randomly picked from the winners of last round, 2 winners go through to the finals.

Round 4: Finals - winner is crowned champion of the pit and receives a special prize!

Every loser from each round will be revived and returned to the audience, where they can help or punish fighters in the pit!

 After the session I will be looking to invite 4-5 players to form the group for the long term campaign. 

NOTE: Your selection will not be based on how well your character survives the pit, but whether or not you seem good fit for the group I want to build. If you are not selected then please don't take it personally. (hint; I like players who use a character voice different from their own so it is clear when you are speaking as your character, and I like players who are interested in role playing into their character)

Players with at least a few sessions experience required as this will be a single fun session (maybe 2 sessions if we run out of time) and I won't have to time to help teach you how to play in the session.

I would be interested in participating, however I would have to know the time you would like the campaign to start as it would have to be later in the evening for me. The earliest I can go is 6:00pm- I am in central time. 

however I love character development and voice acting, though something I’m not incredible at, I’ve tried to dable in from time to time. I know a lot about writing well rounded characters as I have written several short stories and I have a ton of Original character ideas that I have saved up over the years.

I shall share some more information - 

to avoid the mass RP I am planning on muting all audience members and only allowing RP from the fighters, so audience members will need to post their input via text chat during fights.

for the campaign I will be using foundry vtt but as this pit fight is essentially just a series of short one - one fights in a circle, theatre of the mind should be fine, plus I want to practice TOTM combat. But thanks I will check out AboveVTT

For age limit anyone over 18 is fine. Time zone, day and time are all in the post title but I will add them into the post and as for characters, several players have joined and created characters and so far no monks 😂

I am certainly interested in learning more.
