Hey! Do you like Critical Role?? Do you want to play Dungeons and Dragons?? Do you want to play in Exandria (but also get a lot of homebrew thrown at you possibly)??? Come join my group!
Are you still pandemic shy?? That’s fine – this group will start online over Zoom and then move to in-person once COVID is actually not a thing anymore! (Therefore, being local is actually important)
Game: D&D 5e – Exandria (aka Critical Role aka Wildemount aka Tal’dorei)
Group type: Online then to Face-to-face
Experience: Any (prefer a mix of beginners and some experience – but I can do all beginners)
Location/Time zone: Smyrna, GA (Atlanta – near the new Braves Stadium)
Schedule: Prefer Weekends weekly or bi-weekly but pretty flexible (any day but Thursdays)
Roles sought: 4-6 players (I'm DMing)
Game style: Story and roleplay focused games with elements of descriptive combat. But the hope is to bring characters from 2 level through level 20. The game will start on the Menagerie Coast and go from there. Also I’ve been told I have more of a humorous style of DMing: more Princess Bride, less Lord of the Rings or Lovecraftian
FYI this will eventually move to in person once the pandemic is actually over. I am located in Smyrna/Vinings/Marietta/Sandy Springs/Alpharetta area of Atlanta, GA. For now – the games will be online (EST) over zoom. However once in-person starts I am either going to host myself or rent tables at Battle & Brew in Sandy Springs.
I will also say I am a fan of “episodic” style game play where the campaign can be described as interconnected episodes (i.e. a series of connected three shots rather than one continuous game play) partly because its easier for me to write… I have up to level 5 ish already planned out (as well as the BBEG ending) – how we get from point A to point B - well? We will just have to see how the journey will go…

The higher up leadership of the Golden Grin and the Library of the Cobalt Soul have come to a semi tentative agreement – “We think we are aligned in our beliefs and we think an alliance would be nice but we are not sure yet if we can do it publicly so instead we will force a group of underlings that we may or may not like but at the very least trust enough not to screw us over” alliance. So… Congratulations! You have been chosen for a variety of reasons of connections either to the Golden Grin or the Library of the Cobalt Soul to participate in the “alliance-group try-out thingy!” experiment. Hey at the very least you just got paid travel to the wonderful Palma Flora, a well known resort town! Just you and bunch of randos enjoying the calm waters of the best beaches of the Menagerie Coast. For Calamity sake, maybe this will be fun and relaxing! What could go wrong?

This sounds like a lot of fun (Big fan of CR but I'm VERY behind on Campaign 2). I see you want online and eventually face to face but would it be possible to still join in online regularly for me? (I live in California)

This sounds great – I'm a new beginner (haven't played for years) and am interested in finding people to play with. I love the idea of playing again in Exandria. I also want to start online, but am not far from Smyrna, so would be able to meet up in person when the time is right.
