New player looking for first time experience

Hi everyone, 
I am 33m and am looking for my first Roleyplaying group. I have played 2 one shots with friends and played a lot of CRPGs (Icewind Dale 1+2, Baldurs Gate 1+2, Planescape Torment, etc.). I am interested in Roleyplaying for years now and wanted to finally take the plunge. 
I can imagine that complete newbies are probably only reluctantly taken but I am highly enthusiastic and ready to learn. I would prefer a RP heavy campaign but for now anything goes.
