This campaign will take place virtually using discord for voice
it will run on wednesdays at 6:30 pm edt to about 10-10:30
and I already have two players, just looking for about four more.
The leader of the merchant train said the skies would be clear on our journey into the Dales... But that was before the blizzard hit. If only we took the added precaution of tying a lifeline between the entire train. But we didn't, and I've been screaming at the top of my lungs for an hour now and I can't find anyone. The falling snow is just too thick, acting as a blanket separating me from safety. Now the only thing I can do is pick a direction and walk, trying to escape the storm. Apparently there is some local superstition that in the cold heart of these winter storms those few unlucky souls bound for death can see a fading glimpse of Auril the Frostmaiden drifting in the winds. I can definitely see shapes moving in the snow, and I can hear howls on the wind coming from multiple sources. As the howling gets closer and closer my first thought was that the rest of the train finally found me but I don't think I'm so lucky. I managed to light my torch for a second before the wind blew it back out and I saw thick white fur and dozens of eyes all gleaming in the darkness. This is it, what can I do against such a merciless heart and a ravenous hunger. They told me the everlasting winter in the Dales was bad, but I didn't know it was anything like this.
Hello and welcome to Rime of the Frostmaiden! This campaign is about a land plagued by a bitter and unforgiving winter that has raged on for two and a half years without any end in sight, and those people that are unfortunate enough to find themselves caught up in the icy tundra's grip. But more than that this campaign is about the horror of isolation. Character creation will be very essential in this campaign as each character starts out with a secret that if shared to the wrong people, possibly even your own party members, could result in some very lethal reactions.
But as the party ventures through the permanent twilight of the tundra, dodging secrets, avalanches, and the prying eyes of those that succumb to the madness of isolation, they fall upon a conspiracy that threatens to add yet another layer of darkness to the already dim skies.
About the DM:
Hey everyone! My name is Nick and I have about 5 years of DM’ing experience. I DM a lot of different adventures and I've been running games professionally for about two years now. I try to bring an essence of my own design to every adventure I run. In this campaign that would be leaning into the potential this story has for an interesting and specific brand of horror and bringing it to life with the use of the many NPC's in the adventure as well as using the backstory of your characters and tying them to the area and the adventure.
I’m charging 15$/session and the only reason I’m charging is so people stay invested in the campaign, so I can afford the pro subscription and all the sourcebooks I buy, and so I can spend the proper time and effort into exactly what would be going on around the characters and the reverberations of actions between the different towns and groups in and around the Icewind Dales. But anyway I'm really excited to run it and I hope to see you guys there!
