New player LFG Sydney time zone (AEST) weekends

Hey there. I'm from the Sydney area in Australia and looking to play D&D for the first time (preferably online). I've watched some playthroughs and understand the basic idea of how the game is ran and played. If anyone is open to letting me join their game or teaching me that would be great, if not advice would be much appreciated!

I'm in Melbourne, and also looking for a Saturday or Sunday game, preferably from 7pm-ish onwards.

hi I am  a player in a regular Friday night game 8pm-11pm. We need some more players. The DM( not me) does ask a monthly donation. But if you are interested let me know I can share the DMs discord and you can discuss details with the DM

Will I need Discord to join? I've never played before and only joined maybe 20 minutes ago. If I do end up joining, I'm just warning you I have basically no idea what to do. 

Learning is no problem yes we use discord for voice communications and Roll20 for maps and game play can join both free

Hey, there I only just saw your response. When you say the DM requires a monthly donation, what do you mean? Like payment?

Yes a lot of DM's require a monthly payment per character or per session. This is for the time they spend as they are the designers and narrators of the entire adventure and most campaigns run for a few months so it is understandable. Not all DM's ask for these donations but it is becoming quite common from what I've read especially if it is a DM with a few years experience.

Yes a payment at end of each month as we have not been playing long I don’t know the process yet I expect will be PayPal or similar.

Right. Well, do you think whoever the DM of your game would let me possibly join for a session or two to see how I like playing and If I continue playing I'd be happy to pay. It's only because I've never played before and don't want to invest in something if I'm only going to do it once if you know what I'm saying.

Yes, I am sure you can request that with the DM. I will direct message you the DM discord Id add them on discord and ask this directly will be best. I hope it works out. Should you need any help setting up a character, let me know if you decide to join.
