New Player Looking to Learn how to play.

Hi, 

I am a new player and want to learn how to play, I am still waiting to create a character, might end up creating a wizard but if the group or campaign needs some other class I am willing to accommodate, will play a human though, I am new to D&D, not roleplay and I like to usually immerse myself in the character I play so I try to find similarities in myself and the character I create. I am an adult so mature themes are not an issue, I am looking for a patient DM and a friendly group that I can preferably play with for long campaign's. Timing is not an issue I am quite free at the moment so I will accommodate, what ever time the group prefers.

Please be warned when I said new I mean "NEW", always wanted to try D&D, but where I am from D&D is not really that well known and I never had the opportunity. So as I said I want to learn and absorb as much as I can.
