Hello all! I'm Carlos, AKA Karstor! I'm a paid GMing working exclusively from the startplaying.games site, both as a venue for recruiting players and providing security when paying to players (you are paying a company through a secure system). I suggest checking it out even if my games don't interest you; there are many other GMs on the site with interesting one-shots and campaigns!
I have a passion for explaining systems and worry deeply about the player's experience. I take a lot of time preparing the session, choosing appropriate maps, handouts, music, and anything else to improve the players' experience. During the days before the games, I always make myself available to the players for anything they need. I have the patience to get players to understand the rules and the digital tools to play online and love to bring in new people to the hobby. I do not consider the experience just the session, but I like to keep in touch and help players explore their characters as much as possible.
In terms of DnD, I offer both Homebrew and Pre-written campaigns. I can be contacted for personalized campaigns and enjoy involving my players and considering their opinions when world-building. At the moment I'm looking to start two new campaigns:
Eberron: An Artifact of Mourning. A Dungeons and Dragons 5e campaign.
Political Intrigue + Exploration - You are agents of Prince Oargev, the sole survivor of the Royal Family called by some the "King of Mourning." Reduced from crown-prince to mere major of refugee camps, his pride is wounded, and he has become obsessed with the Mourning. As he tries to maintain what little hold he has over the survivors and rebuild his nation, you are tasked with entering the Mourlands, exploring the ruins of Cyre to recover important artifacts and relics. Maybe even discover what caused the Mourning. Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: Any Location/Timezone: Eastern US Schedule: Wednesdays, every two weeks at 8:PM ET. Free session zero on September 15th Roles sought: Looking for up to 5 more players, already have 1. We would be ready to go with two more. Sign Up link: https://startplaying.games/adventure/612f9ebb100b4b0008c5495d Game style: Sessions will be a mix of social encounters, exploration, and tactical combat. As a DM, I'm available to talk between sessions if players wish for the style of the game to change/concentrate on something else.
Safety: Safety tools will be in effect, mainly the X card, but also a session 0 discussion of what is accepted and what is not, and what are each players' limits. This game is also inclusive and seeks to provide a safe space regardless of players' diverse identities, including accommodating neurodiverse players with any disability. In this regard, any form of bigotry will not be allowed or tolerated.
Wild Beyond the Witchlight: A fantastical DnD Adventure
Welcome to a whole new different kind of DnD Adventure with "Wild Beyond the Witchlight" being the first adventure set in the magical and mysterious world of the Feywild. There is a fantastical world to discover and a diverse cast of creatures to meet... but beyond their quirkiness, the Feyfolk are capricious and set in their ways. It is impossible to know how they will react to mortals visiting their realm. Will you follow their paths and cave to their whims? Or will you defiantly construct your own? Come and find out in this adventure that takes you from level 1 to 8, great for newcomers and veteran players alike.
While this is an official pre-written adventure, I give my players as much agency as possible, and the story need not completely follow the book! Still, the idea would be to finish the campaign some sessions after characters get to level 8.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: Any Location/Timezone: Eastern US Schedule: Thursdays, every two weeks at 8:PM ET. Free session zero on September 23rd Roles sought: Looking for a maximum of 6 players, the campaign will start with 3.
