Dragons of Icespire Peak ( new players welcome and still needed)

Hello,

I am Matthew from San Antonio, Texas looking for some players to join a D&D group. The first thing you should know is that I have never played D&D before nor have I ever played as a DM in a game. Honestly, I just purchased a essentials kit and I am looking for players who would want to try this out. I think I have a fair grasp on this essentials kit and would like to try my hand at being a DM. This post is especially for new players.

The way this essentials kit works is that it is a "rail road" campaign meaning there is not a lot of out of the box type moving. ( we for the most part have to follow the script) this does put limits on the characters that you can build and the classes you can choose. 

The campaign works as we are set in a town and we get the campaigns from a notice board. You will be playing as your characters and I will be playing the NPC and monsters. There are about 9 campaigns in all until we fight the dreaded white dragon. I can upload the maps and monster descriptions, so you will all have references as to what we are looking at and what we are fighting. 

Time: I know time is going to be the biggest consideration for this. I have an extremely busy life so the best times for me to do this campaign is on Friday and Saturday nights at around 9pm CST (Texas). The adventure would last about 2 hours each night. 

The first night will be about building the characters you have in mind. I have a pretty good idea how this works but again we are limited by the confides of the book. I have no idea how long this campaign will take I am assuming a couple of sessions. If all goes well I think I would be willing to do another campaign and even give someone else the chance to DM if it interests them. 

I am contactable through discord or reply via this thread if you are interested. At the moment of me writing this the date is 2 OCT 2020 if you are interested I would love to try to get some people together tomorrow night (3 Oct 2020) to build our characters and a get to know each other type of deal. I am open on what platform we host the campaign. I have heard that discord is a good start, we could also try Zoom using a document camera or something similar.
