So what I mean by Mythology hook is that the overarching plot is that the characters are sons and daughters of Gods. God from d&d or other pantheons. So during the party adventures, they will have chances to gain followers as an rp thing or a power thing. That can be worked out with any DM interested. This doesn't have to be a homebrew thing either. It can also work with official modules, it would just take a little more work to apply it to an official module.
