It’s nice to meet you. I’m a 23-year-old brand new DM kicking off what I hope will be my first campaign full of adventure, intrigue, adventure, pulse-pounding combat, and did I mention adventure?
We’ll be playing in a classic fantasy world shaped by your character’s choices and brimming with story threads for you to pull on. You can quest any way you please. Be good, be evil, spend the entire campaign worshipping an eldritch weevil; it's all up to you. The only thing have to decide is what you want to do.

Depending on the mission, I would either try to pay the 5 gold (if I didn't want to arouse suspicion) or find another way through stealthily if I didn't want to be seen going through the bridge at all.

I would activate misty step, appear behind the guard and freeze him in place using Chill Touch. Easily allowing me and whoever else is with me to venture onward, 5 gold still in my pocket haha

Deceive the guard into thinking his house is on fire so that he runs from the bridge
