I've DMed 5e for quite a while. Currently, I'm taking a backseat to let another player in my group try DMing. He's great, the campaign's great - but I'm definitely itching to "tell" a story again, ideally with a few players that are easy-going, and who like to focus on heavy roleplaying. Voices/Accents, backstories, etc.
If anyone living in central/northern NH reads this, let me know! In-person DnD is a blast.
For anyone else looking to play, I'd like to run an online one-shot in the near future to test the waters of DMing online, which I've never done before. Characters would be level 1, attributes determined by point-buy, and the story would be generally roleplay-heavy. I'm thinking a creepy, desolate setting. If everyone meshes, we could move on to something more permanent (or at least, as permanent as a DnD campaign can get!).
Private message or post here. Let me know if you write or draw. Thanks!
I'd be really interested in playing in a one-shot. I'm currently about 60 sessions into running a 5e game over Zoom, and have about 20ish years of off and on D&D experience. The last campaign I played in ended sort of unsatisfactorily, and DMing takes up a lot of time, so I'm looking for an opportunity to just play. I like the idea of starting at first level, and I tend to run sort of horror/fantasy stuff myself, so creepy and desolate seems great. I'm not particular about type of character to play, the only 5e character I've played for any length of time was a tanky dwarven healer, so anything but that sounds good. I'm not in NH but I do live on the East Coast, and I run a homestead so my schedule is pretty flexible, especially in the fall/winter evenings. I don't know if this stuff matters to you but I'm 34 and LGBTQ+ friendly. Hope to hear from you,
Always the DM, never the player. I know what it's like. And I'm not complaining - it's just nice to be on the other side of the screen once in a while. I'm thinking only 3 players, to keep roleplaying to a max. I've seen too many online sessions where 6 players are jostling to be heard.
Have you found your players yet? If not I am interested. To be honest I haven't played 5e much, mostly 3.5, but I am a quick learner and have played dnd off and on for about 20 yrs as well. Looking for a group that isn't afraid to role-play and connect with their characters. Only other issue would schedule, when were you thinking of gaming?
im Ben, live in Maine but work in Dover so online or in person would most likely work for me but have really liked the online running just cause it gets people from everywhere involved. I am 35 and have 20+ years playing and have always loved playing supports but have recently branched out and tried a bit of everything except wizards/warlocks and sorcerers. My discord is gonezoe#6778 and would love to talk about joining or you can message me here
Hey guys, so, I'm working on the one-shot now. I'm thinking I'll be ready two weeks from now and we'll be using roll20, which I'm learning. Again, this will be roleplay-heavy, without a ton of emphasis on combat (you're level 1, anyway).
One thing I should have mentioned: you must use a character "voice" - whether that be an accent, inflection, or what have you. I find it's a must for immersion.
Anyway, please send me a brief description of your character: name, class/race, and a few sentences of backstory. Thanks.

Hi. I am interested in playing. Easy to get along with.
Yeah it seems that a smaller group is better online, I enjoy 5-6 players in real life but online 3 or 4 is a little better
Hello I am interested in this 100% I live in southern Maine. I am relatively new but really enjoy my time playing.
