About me!

Hello! My name is Jay!  I've delved into D&D since the beginning of the pandemic and I have been hooked ever since. Most of my experience is as a player. But I have DM'd some one shots in the past. I am currently playing only 1 campaign so I will be able to give all my attention to my own game and my players as much as possible. 

Goals:

My goal is to learn to be the best DM as I can be. I will be providing ambience music for every scenario, narrating everything, voice acting NPCs (I will try to do my best with this), be as descriptive as possible for every situation. I want my players to feel immersive and learn to love their own characters. 

Game expectations:

I would love to have every single scenario in some sort of battle map setting but that would take ages to do. So there will be times, where theatre of the mind will come to play. But I will provide as much maps as I can and when I do, it will be detailed as much as possible including dynamic lighting, random noises, fog of war, other details such as switches and lockable doors that can be opened and closed at the players will, etc. 

I encourage my players to roleplay. If you are new at D&D, that is entirely okay. I can give tips on how to enhance your roleplaying skills. My games will have a balance of roleplay, combat, and puzzles. Teamwork is key! If most of the players, are new to D&D, I would please ask those experienced players to be patient and understandable. 

We will be going with Rules as Written (RAW). But I am always flexible with what makes the game fun but fair as well!

I know I hold a strong passion for my own story but I also do know that it is important for my players to not be held back and form their own stories for their own characters as well. 

Schedule:

We will be playing weekly! We won't have a permanent time and day of the week for playing due to IRL. Instead we will discuss after every session when everyone is available to play. My times on available days are anywhere between 9am EST - 6pm EST. I want to have an average of 3 - 4 hours per session. With 1 or 2 breaks in between. 

Other Notes:

Characters sheets will be created through D&D Beyond. We will be using Foundry for our games. It is free! I also want my players to download the Beyond 20 browser extension so they can roll straight from D&D Beyond.

Right now, I would like to run with four players. I might be flexible enough to add one more, but not guaranteed. After we establish our players, we will be having a session zero.

Session Zero:

Date of session zero depends on how fast we find players.

This will be a time for all of us to introduce ourselves and build rapport. Then, I will be assisting my players in creating their own characters. If you wish to create your character on your own, that is fine as well. We will also be rolling for stats!

Lastly, we will be running a tutorial battle map through Foundry for players to familiarize themselves.

Wow! I did not expect this many requests! I really apologize if I haven't reached back to you yet. Hey I'd you still need another I've been really wanting to play! I'm disabled and find it hard to get out of the house much but have always loved the idea of DnD and want a way to be social and play. I'm in Britain so 5 hours ahead of you but I'm a night owl (as evidenced by the fact it's 4am here right now lol) so it doesn't matter too much.
