Game: D&D 5e, Just wrapping up Hoard of the Dragon Queen Group type: Online via Zoom and Roll20 in game, Discord (and facebook, although that's optional) for organizing outside of the session. This campaign started with a small group of irl friends, and initially found extra folks through a dnd facebook group. Experience: I've DM'd for a year and a half. Location/Timezone: EDT Schedule: Fridays from 9 or 10pm for an hour or two, sometimes a bit longer. Once we finish hoard of the dragon queen we will indefinitely pause the game and hopefully continue on with Rise of Tiamat on thursday evenings. Roles sought: 2 reliable and at least somewhat experienced players who can make a character in time for 10pm edt tonight. (1.5 hours from posting approximately.) Game style: Very casual. Good mix of combat, exploration & rp however this published adventure is a bit of a railroad.
One thing unique about my DM style is that I welcome "rule lawyers," so long as they keep it respectful, back it up with page number references to the sourcebooks, but also let me ultimately decide whether I want to follow that rule or not. Sometimes for the sake of the general flow of the game, I go with what feels right, as I think most would agree is ideal. By doing this I'm becoming better acquainted with the official rules while also refining my personal approach to DM'ing. For this reason, I would also prefer experienced players who have at least read the PHB (player's handbook) and have played for at least a few months. One thing I should add though is to please keep your suggestions/criticism to me, the DM, and not other players.
As for creating characters, anything canon in Forgotten realms is permitted. I've been debating whether or not to ban Yuan-Ti as I've been told they're OP but I have yet to decide concretely either way. Feel free to roll persuasion to convince me otherwise xD
If you've read this far, thank you - I'd love to hear from you :)
One last note - but this is kind of a given in any dnd game really, but the number one rule in all sessions is respect each other. Pretty simple. Any form of hatred, be it racism/sexism/homophobia/ableism/transphobia, etc, will not be tolerated. Also, no politics please. We're all just here to play dnd and have fun. :)
Hey it looks like I'm a bit late for this tonight, but if you happen to be looking for another player to round things up after the fact hit me up on Discord. Bert#6638
As much as I'd love to join this, I currently run my own Greyhawk campaign on Friday's. If you have spots open for that Thursday Rise of Tiamat though, I'd be down. Or if we can find a way to finaggle the schedule around.
