Island ship fairing campaign

Welcome to Shalllowfell( I know it sounds like shadow fell) a realm of a couple of islands known and unknown to most and habited by many. We are on the search of one boy lost in the realm. Probably taken by pirates, locked up underground, or just plain running away. We don’t know. This is where you come in.I am searching for another player to play to join the crew of the S.S. Potluck captained by a young pirate to search for this young boy. A cheers to our voyagers!!!

Im still somewhat new at dming so have some patience with me. I’ve been playing on and off for about a year or two and finally got a small group of friends to help with learning and being under pressure. 

We have three people and need another seeing that one of them clocks out halfway through and I would prefer to run for three people.

Homebrew must be checked by me. If it’s fun I’ll probably ok it. I also allow one pet(familiar)or one green magic item of your choice

Hello! I'm Brittany also known as Zara or Zara#8153 on Discord. I would like to join. I have an idea to pitch if you are interested? I tend to love designing characters and roleplaying them, coming up with ideas. Here is what I have for you so far.

A half-elf, either of the mark of the storm or high elf decent. She would be a fathomless warlock with a sailor background, raised on the docks then on the seas, she would have taken to sailing to survive. Viewed it as a way to get by but not really liked the sea. Then she fell overboard during a storm, cursing the sea she sank to the depths knowing she was going to drown, she could swim but with the storm and the ship moving away? What chance did she have? She sunk down and saw eyes, large eyes stared at her in the deep. A tentacle wrapped around her waist. Next thing...she was back on her ship and men panicked as she looked just in time to see the Kraken retreat back to the sea. Her soul was forfeit, but her outlook changed. She respected even admired what she had once resented. Where there had once been wariness and fear of the deep, now there was a boldness and a carefree understanding. Storms may come, waves may crash..that too shall pass. And her power began to grow with that understanding.

Ex-Navy guy here and I would LOVE to play in this type of campaign (played in something similar back in 3.X days. I have a lot of experience as a DM and player.

I have played D&D for years. I can honestly play into any role needed in the party (A Sea Elf Tempest Cleric could be interesting if heals are needed). Otherwise I would love to play a Bard/Rogue or a "Finger Twiddler" of some kind (Sorc or Wizard - Probably Sea Elf for these also). BTW - How are you doing abilities? Point Array, Buy In, Rolling?
