Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: 3 years, several campaigns and many oneshots Location/Timezone: UK/BST (until Oct 30th, then GMT) Schedule: Currently BST weekend afternoons, but potential for a second group on BST weekday evenings. Roles sought: Looking for 2-4 players, age 18+, newer players welcome
Game style: My games generally have their roots in dark high fantasy and horror (mainly falling somewhere between LotR, Ravenloft and Dragon Age in terms of tone) and take place in homebrew settings, featuring a focus on serious roleplaying and dramatic combat. I am looking for players comfortable with extended in-character roleplaying and engaging with potentially heavy themes, and who enjoy complex and high-stakes combat encounters.
Most of my sessions run between 3-4 hours, basically as frequently as scheduling and player interest allow for the time being, and are usually run over Google Meet (though I am also planning to try Demiplane's game hosting service soon). Generally, combat is done via theatre of the mind, or with printed maps and painted miniatures on camera. My games are story-first, rules-second and my aim is always a collaberative storytelling effort alongside my players, rather than to test tactical acumen or for anyone to 'win'. You can expect plenty of original homebrew monsters, magic items, lore and characters in anything I run.
While I have a long-form campaign in the works, I would like to run a oneshot or two to test out any new players before we dive into that, the first of which is a traditional fantasy take on the classic sci-fi 'First Contact' story inspired by Spelljammer, Alien and Doctor Who, at 5th level and hopefully running some time in the next week.
Please DM me here if you're interested in signing on for these adventures, whether you're up for a campaign or just want to join us for a fun fantasy-horror oneshot this Halloween!
