Go to the Forum instructions and post more (see the outline of experience, edition, roleplay/combat preference, etc.) I'm a DM looking to take on more gaming hours to up my experience in the next week, but I need more information to run with. Teaching a zero-experience player who wants to be a druid/ranger is different than me teaching a zero-experience wizard/warlock. Same goes for whether you are here for roleplay, combat, or both.
So I'm part of a discord server a little different than the traditional campaign format, but super friendly to new players. We basically have a whole world of channels that you can RP in as much or as little as you would like, whenever. We have players in the US, UK, and New Zealand, so we cater to practically every time zone and love to teach new players the mechanics of DND and discord server things (like avrae, roll 20 etc). Because it's a server you can make as many characters as you'd like, and we're happy to teach you about classes, rolling stats, etc.
This is actually the method that taught me DND, and we just taught another wave of new players how to play.
If this is something you'd be interested in, I included an invite link and a description of the overarching plot!
Constructed on the peak of Kelemvor’s Crown, the largest mountain in the Superstition Mountain chain, stands the ancient, devout kingdom of Rasa Caelo. The kingdom is ruled by the Alden family, and has been ruled by that monarchy for over a thousand years, long before the new calendar. Its coffers are usually full, due to the presence of a magical variant of salmon that the city exports in abundance.
Though wealthy, the kingdom lacks allies and boasts many enemies who fault it for its draconian laws and strict worship of Kelemvor the god of death. Recent years have seen trade lines between Rasa Caelo and the few nations still willing to trade with them interrupted. Staged ambushes and piracy have resulted in an unreliable supply of necessary goods, and seeing the Rasa Caeloens weakened as a result, Kingdoms that once passively watched Rasa Caelo with disdain have started to put pressure on the borders of the nation. Some have even begun sending troops partway up the mountain on militaristic ‘survival drills’.
Rasa Caelo is protected in part, however, by its inaccessibility. Isolated by difficult terrain, the kingdom is accessible only by a long and arduous hike or by passage up the turbulent Revir River, meaning that enemies attempting to invade arrive weakened and battered. With a complacent people terrified of angering the crown, and landscape suited to kill, the Aldens have felt secure these past thousand years in their rule…
But recent years haven’t just brought an uptick in foreign nation hostility. The undead—aberrations hated in Rasa Caelo to such a degree that the royal family has ordered the execution of any remotely accused of creating them—have begun to rise in the palace, and the people believe that the royal family is attempting to protect whoever it is. This level of blatant hypocrisy has sparked those who were more outspoken to begin to form an underground rebellion, and tensions are rising between the haves and have nots of the city.
While the gates of the kingdom remain open to travelers, the city guard is on the lookout for those looking to add to the insurrection within the city walls. Any trouble makers had better be careful, because the Aldens will stop at nothing to cut out the insidious disease of rebellion and secure their thrones.
