Game style: A mixture of roleplay, combat, and exploration with a party that works together to overcome threats and live in a breathing world
This is a continuing campaign set in the Forgotten Realms that has reached the conclusion of a major arc. We are looking for one or two more player characters that would mesh with the party’s current goals or desire for adventure. Only apply if you want to play a high level character, join an existing campaign, can play for 6 hours every session, and want to put in the effort to integrate your character into a party that has been around for a long time. We look forward to meeting you if you are!
Campaign Overview
The party seeks to return to the final threat of all - the influence of the dark goddess Shar. Shar has done this, to an extent, using a party member’s mistaken warlock patronage with her - and used her naivety and powers of shadow sorcery to channel herself through her at a key moment. The city of Suzail was overwhelmed as portals from the Shadowfell - Shar’s divine domain - were opened, and dark creatures that no mortal was supposed to see flowed through. Due to the divine gate and the party’s actions, Shar herself couldn’t come through (which is doom for the material world). The cults that follow her - the highly magical Darkmage Order and the Shades in particular - are doing everything they can to try to remove these barriers.
However, the party still has time, as reports are these forces are having issues getting their act together due to the party’s recent incursions. Right now, the party wants the opportunity to do downtime in their home base of the fledging Myth Drannor. Having heard of the Misfits’ deeds, new adventurers’ may wish to join them, as a sense of duty, fate, or other reasons…
About me
I am 28 years old, and like TTRPGs for their flexibility and camaraderie. I enjoy improvisation, tactical combat, and role playing. Experiencing the openness and the fantastical is a large reason I like to play D&D. Other hobbies of mine are tactical strategy games, observing art, reading, graphic design, and walking my dog. I consider myself a geek that likes to have a good time.
About Foundry VTT
I use Foundry for character tracking, theater of the mind scenes, battle maps, ambient audio, and more. It is an exceptional VTT that doesn't require any downloads or other technical knowledge for players. A link to the virtual tabletop is sent to players who are accepted into the game.
D&D is an opportunity for active & insightful Roleplay
Roleplaying is a large reason I enjoy D&D - video games cannot match that experience. We do have long combats from time to time, though. Players are ideally active in their decisions and have their character grounded in the world. I enjoy it when players vividly describe what their character is doing in each of the three pillars of gameplay - roleplay, combat, and exploration.
Character Creation
The party is at Level 19 - new characters will start at level 17 (progressing to the current party level with play). Use the Starting at a Higher Level table from the DMG for extra items your character would start with (standard campaign). Anything standard from official 5E published material is good (no Optional rules/features from Tashas, as they are “mini-milestones” in this game). Feats are allowed, subject to DM approval. Multiclassing is ok and encouraged. You can choose to roll (in-game) stats or use Point Buy and take the average for Hit Dice. However, you must commit to the choice (meaning no re-rolls or other things the standard rules don’t allow - rolling is a risk).
Variant & House Rules
The following variant rules are used: Variant Diagonal (moving every 10 ft. diagonally costs 5 ft. more), Flanking (advantage on melee attacks when on opposite sides of a creature).
Note there is a couple of house rule nerfs have been applied: Sorcery Points can only be used for Sorcerer features and spells. This was to prevent Eldrich Blast (a warlock cantrip gained through the optional rule of Multiclassing) dealing damage in the hundreds per turn with minimal resource consumption. A monk’s Stunning Strike needs two ki points against powerful creatures who have certain immunities or form, instead of just one. I rarely nerf, but chose to do so when these two things caused battles to lack variety, as this is all that would happen in a battle since they were a bit broken. There are buffs through optional features and other things that bring more variety and enjoyment to the game for everyone.
Current Party
Luna - a CG Half-Elf Shadow Sorceress / Hexblade Warlock whom has vested interest in countering Shar directly - and using the magic of the Shadow Weave against her.
Swiftfist - a LN Goliath Kensei Monk who now seeks to help Luna while also escaping from his past.
Thalli (played by the player of Swiftfist) - a CG Half-Orc Fighter / Rogue / Cleric who escaped from her prejudiced orc tribe, and the humans that hated her due to her half-orc heritage.
Our previous two party members had to leave at the end of our previous arc, due to scheduling for one player and differences of expectation for the other.

Hello! My name is Zachery but i also go by Cassel (Pronounced Castle)
I am 24 Years Old
My experience with d&d is playing as a PC for about 6 years and recently starting to DM for a small group. My experince with Foundry VTT is Little to none as ive only used in once or twice.
I am a fairly quite person who prefers to let other take the lead though i do enjoy role playing and being involved with the party. I tend to play support characters who buff the party instead of going in to deal the big damage.
By joining this campaign i hope to meet a few new friends to play a game with and have a great time.
Emrick Nolakin; Halfling; Druid (Cirlce of the Moon)
Emrick Is an older halfing with greying hair, and a stout physique. He is dressed in plain green and browns with a well worn cloak. He gives off the aura of a man who has seen many years and been through many trials. He's friendly but not overly talkative preferring to listen and analyze rather than share.
Emrick has lived most of his life serving and protecting a small village acting as their doctor and defense against things that are unnatural. recently things have been going wrong in the village with little to no explanation. Emrick takes this as an ill omen and began to listen for stories of thing going wrong in the world. After hearing of the events at Suzial Emrick discussed things with his family and the important figures of the village, they came to the conclusion that Emrick would do more good lending a hand in this fight rather than protecting one small village. So he set out to meet up with the heroes and do what needs to be done.
If you believe i am a good fit you can message me on here or on Discord CasselT#2372
Heyo my name is Michael and that what you guys can call me during the session : )
I'm 22 years old.
I've played D&D for about 4 years now and I've started using Foundry for a couple of weeks.
I would describe myself as pretty laid back and I'm more of as go with the flow type of person. My playstyle is more geared towards making sure that everyone is involved and making sure everyone is having a fun time!
I'm looking to making new friends as well as playing a high level character which is a rare occasion.
Eomir is a tall pale skinned individual with blue eyes that stands proudly with a necklace that holds a symbol of a flame with 7 stars surrounding it. He is a light-hearted individual that is warm and loving to those he cares about and ruthless to those that harm those that aren't able to protect themselves. When it comes to battle he tends to the wounded and charges into battle alongside his companions.
The Lineage of Stars is an establishment known for its sorcerers and their collection of magical items. They keep to themselves for the most part but grant protection to the towns around them because they provide food for the Lineage. All was fine until one day there was a knock at the front door, when the door was opened there was no one there besides a basket with a silk smooth blanket that seemed to wrap around a child. This child was different from others. This child had dark flowy hair, beautiful clear skin, and eyes as blue as the ocean, they knew this was an aasimar. The only thing that was in the basket other than the baby and the blanket was a beautiful necklace that seemed to radiate magic. They began to investigate the necklace closer and found that it had the symbol of Mystrl, when finding this information they knew that the god of magic, Mystryl, had given her creation to them to be protected and raised by them. The sorcerers took this child under their wing and began to teach him magic. They named the child Eomir Mystryl Highbloom.
I hope to hear back soon! My discord is uuhhhh#0001
